[Suggestion] Staff Remake
1) 100% make aa faster…. including projectile speed. It’s terrible… like watching a snail… meanwhile theif just hit me 5348 times with aa.
2) agreed. good as is
3) I think this skill is good as is as well
4) PUT BLIND BACK and reduce cd a bit
5) I agree the base dmg should be a bit more
Phantasmal warlock needs a rework or projectile speed increase, it doesn’t hit a sidestepping enemy. Chaos armour should do AOE blind on activation, giving back the blind to the skill but in a skillful way instead of RNG.
Imo chaos storm should be the same thing- daze on activation and then ticking random boons/conditions. This one is highly subjective however.

I know Staff purpose is more defense oriented, but core Mesmer could use a buff since last scepter buff was a joke.
1) As many people asked already, oh my god make the stafkittenoes faster. Just looking at it flying away is painful. Trident AA is perfect speed.
Just by upping the Staff AA speed, you solved lots of problem with it. You don’t even need to touch the damage or conditions duration or stacks. It has the lowest damage in all professions with Staff and also with similar skills (Ranger Axe AA and Thief Shortbow AA)
2) No need the change.
3) Reduce casting time (actually reduce all phantasm summoning casting time), make it pierces, faster and more reliable.
4) Chaos Armor : Long cooldown for no reason and useless in PvE. Just remove the % reduction from Chaos Armor. Since the devs changed the Staff trait to make Chaos Armor obligatory to reduce cooldown of all staff skills, they been NERFING it.
Why are you forcing us to use Chaos Armor, then nerf it when we use it too many time ? SMH… Just slap the 20% cooldown reduction back and put something more usefull than Chaos Armor. Which is redundant because I can Chaos Storm + Phase Leap.
5) Chaos Storm : Reduce cooldown. My god, even Meteor Shower is on a shorter cooldown. Also, too many traits need to work together to make Chaos Storm do enough damage (Confounding Suggestions, Power Block, Chaotic Interruption, etc), don’t let it stay like that just because you been making all kind of traits to make it worth.
1) faster
2) cool
3) replace with a skill no phantasm( I would love a build that just used clones)
4) cast on you and all allies
5) bring back visuals stun on cast conditions after cast
Heya, here are my suggestions:
Winds of Chaos
- power damage increased by 50%
- attack cool down decreased from 1.32s to 1s
- bounce removed, still single target
- now always procs 5s vulnerability and a random condition: 6s bleed , 2s burn, 4s confusion
- grants random buffs to nearby allies in 240 range: 1s any possible boon but aegis
- clone attack cool down increased to 3s
Phase Retreat
- now blinks forward if there is no target selected
- still blinks away from the selected target
- if there are already 3 illusions active, this skill will not summon a clone, instead it will have 33% less cd
Phantasmal Warlock
- projectile removed
- now fires a beam with 2 hits; the first one acts like a warning shot, dealing 1 damage (unblockable), 0.5s later a beam fires dealing the current damage to the target and up to 4 additional enemies in a line
- range reduced from 1200 to 900
- attack cooldown reduced from 6.9s to 6s
Chaos Armor
- grants chaos armor to you and nearby allies, 360 range
- is now an aoe stunbreak
- cd increased from 35 to 45
Chaos Storm
- damage increased by 50%
- now always grants aegis on first and last proc (… again)
- duration of the storm increased from 5s to 10s
- now always dazes on 1st, 4th and 7th tic, but does not apply any condition then
- now applies a random condition; 2s weakness, 2s chill or 2s poison every not dazing tic
- now applies a random boon; 2s retaliation, 2s protection, 2s swiftness
- cd increased from 35 to 45
What do you think? And yea, I think the staff is underpowered aswell. That’s why I suggest those major buffs.

Just pm me for my advice! Always eager to help!”
1. Winds of Chaos
Increase Burning duration to 2s.
Increase blob velocity significantly.
Increase base damage significantly.
2. Phase Retreat
Good as it is.
3. iWarlock
Make active part of skill like Shield – so in this case apply 4 stacks of confusion for 6 seconds in a small purple AoE explosion centred on your target when doing the finger point casting animation (similar to Mistrust effect), along with a second random condition from a pool of options.
Then the iWarlock appears (after the casting animation) and launches its projectile which must be increased in velocity, and also have an AoE splash damage effect around the target if it hits.
Increase base cooldown a little if necessary.
4. WTkitten is this kitten
Reduce the cooldown to like 12 seconds or add additional effects compared to “normal” combo field Chaos Armour. For example make it proc aegis on cast or reflect projectiles (give it a suitably different visual effect to distinguish between normal Chaos Armour). Actually I like Xyonon’s aoe stunbreak idea better than my suggestions, so ignore this one from me.
5. Chaos Storm
Increase base damage
Always proc Daze on first hit (after that random)
Change boon pool to Aegis (3s) Resistance (2s), Protection (3s), Stability (3s).
Change condi pool to Blind, Weakness, Chill, Poison.
Each tick should proc confusion (1 stack for 3 seconds).
Each tick should proc regen (3 seconds).
Reduce cooldown to 30s.
Overall it should be more rewarding for allies to stand in and more punishing for enemies. At the moment apart from the Daze it poses very little threat unless traited for all the interrupt traits.

I like your ideas of phase retreat, it would make us a bit more faster ,
but on winds of chaos I wouldnt take away the bounce effect but would make it a 66% chance to trigger the bounce.
About chaos armor increasing the CD isnt in my opinion a good idea, the armor is to underpowered , there could be added a base aoe dmg of 130 when activating this skill , or like said above to add a reflect projectile effect (only on this skill not on whole chaos armor)
@Curunen The idea of adding a splash dmg to iwarlock , i love it. It should hit 3 target like every other range skill does
Edit.: I think it would be good if a explo finisher would be added on the 4th skill when activated or when the aura wears off

To be honest i would also just rid of all weapon skill phantasms except berserker- they are just slow to use and underwhelming for that matter. Also, mesmer damage is so low partly because it takes 3 phantasms into consideration.
