So I finally just acquired this sigil, mainly for raids. I’m wondering if I should put it on my berserker sword, or craft a new sword with Commander stats. I will not be chronotanking anytime soon, so I wonder if I should even make a commander sword at all given that I will have some DPS loss if I do. Also, if I only use it for raids, would be ok to just put it on an exotic sword?

You probably dont need commanders if you have sigil + a herald + some type of boon duration food like Fried Golden Dumplings. Thats over 100% boon duration right there.

Put it on your zerker sword rather than commander, and ignore xyonon, the sigil is just fine. Commander really doesnt bring much to the table, and you dont need the extra duration.

If you call crappy boon duration uptime and messy rotations fine, then yes, keep it. :P Seriously tough, the sigil is really just suboptimal. I’ve got a sword with it myself but I’d not recommend use it unless for the rare situation when you have NO rev at all. It’s not a good sigil for a Mes in PvE raid envoirment.

But I’m swapping weapons constantly in raids anyways. I mainly have sword/shield and sword/focus. Why is the weapon swap a big deal?

If you’re continuously weapon swapping the sigil is a good choice for you since it naturally flows with your playstyle. That, and you get to save on expenses/time required to get things like Commander Gear and Bountiful Sharpening Stones.

Personally, I find myself hugging shield a lot while tanking so it would be more awkward for me to do a weapon swap and be without my precious shield for 10 seconds. In that case, I made a personal decision to go for Commander’s and Bountiful Stones since it caters more to my playstyle and helps offset the +Boon Duration I would have gotten with just the Sigil itself.

You mustn’t perma swap weapons, since you need to keep your shield 5 on CD in order to be able to cast it 4 times per rotation. Same goes for the phantasm – you want to replace all your “1 life” phantasms before the new CS. And most imporant – while staying on shield you’ll be able to have your focus pull ready when you need it, not when you “are on focus by coincidence”. This has a major impact against Sabetha where you need to pull the thugs and arsonists the moment they want to attack / kick. You can also time this with the CD of Tides of Time, wich you can’t if you swap all the time.

It’s not a playstyle question – it’s a skill level question. Try improving by not using it and focus on more important things, on your envoirment and how to use your offhand skills with utmost efficiency and with the best outcome / passive dps gain.

Yeah I don’t wanna attempt tanking yet until I have all commanders gear for toughness. Until then, I just wanna be utility/dps boon bot

I tried on myself full commander’s gear (Without the Amulet, thanks god I killed Mordremoth in extreme mode AFTER switched back my gears, or probably I would waste it with that useless Commander’s stat.), and I can tell you…

Is just a waste of money, time and hopes.

Chronotank works better with a classic full Assassin armor / zerk weapon|Trinket and Captain’s / Knight rings.

You lose TOONS of DPS and A LOT of money (And time, you need charged quartz crystal to make 1 piece) for what? 20% boon duration and some toughness? Really don’t worth the pain.

I swithed back to zerk weapon and keep only some armor with commander stats to reach 10% boons duration without food/rune/sigil and I will switch back the rest of my armor soon.

If you really want to reach 100% boons duration for a raid, there are better alternatives.

In fractal is pointless, 20% boon duration from the food are just enough for a T3-4 run.

And, if you think that 20/30% boon duration will change your Open world experience… Well, they don’t if they make you lose 50% crit. damage and like 200 power. (And still you can’t share your boons with all the world around you, so… Still no.)

If you want toughness, go for Knight/Captain’s rings and keep your armor / weapon / trinket with zerk/assassin stats.
Work 1000 times better than a full Commander’s Chrono.
