Sweet Spot For Toughness?
With shatter i’m at 1520 toughness with ~18k HP, which is good in the current condi-meta, i think.
When playing condi, i have about 1800-1900 toughness, and my heavy shatter is at ~2k.

Why buy Khilbron’s when you can just do dungeons?
Rabid gear is easily bought in WvW for badges of honor. The achievement chests should have given everyone more than enough badges to do so.

Because i dont do dungeons, i havent completed most of them even in Story mode. I spend 90% of my time in WvW

Doh! i forgot about that lol. I have nearly 3,000BoH
Depends. Sometimes i like goin full berserker and try to instagib people, but thats besides the point.
I use knight helm shoulder coat gloves, Berserker skirt and boots. This gives me 2050 armor and i use it in pve with berserker trinkets.
If i solo roam with that same set, i use 20 chaos and cavalier rings, which gives me 2400ish armor. For ZvZ ill take cavalier trinkets aswell for 2550-2600 armor.
I see 2400-2600 as pretty tanky (for a shatter atleast). I assume your conditioon Build will also be quite evasive, so id recommend 2600ish. But going with rabid will probably give you more.
Btw, im talking about armor not toughness.

So Upgraded to Rabid Exotic clothing and got Rabid Ascended rings. Gives me 1,626 Toughness with Scepter/Pistol and 1700 in Staff, i think that is solid enough as its more then i had before. With 1,702 Toughness i have 2,622 Armor
Now to find the sweet spot for Condition Damage, currently sitting at 1,176. Though the Back, Earrings and Amulet. The Scepter and Pistol could be improved as well with Scepter Level 80 Masterwork and Pistol Level 71 Rare
16500hp, 2900 toughness, constant protection (or there abouts), and weakness on your enemies.

Sweet spot for condition damage is as high as possible. 1.1k is really low. When I run my condition build in wvw (no points in illusions) I hit 2100 condition damage when my sigil is fully stacked and with signet of domination, but no might.

How do you have 2,100? 250 from Corruption, You take the Scepter Trait?
Even with full Exotic Rabid Cloth + 30 into Illusions you wouldnt you wouldnt have 1500. I am guessing you are full Ascended as well

2100 usually is way too high. After playing a bit around, i’d say that 1500-1600 condidmg is about right and the rest should go into condi-duration, precision, power to be able to fight immune opponents (like certain engis under 25%…i hate those) or more defensive stats.
I’m mostly at about 1800 with full stack (no signet, i’m using blink, decoy and arcane thievery/nullfield) which is more than enough to kill most opponents.

I have no idea how hes even getting it that high, Yeah i will be around 1500-1600 once i am finished. I have the Backpiece, Earrings and Amulet to upgrade which should bring in 300 Condition Damage and then upgrading the weapons. Also that is 1, 176 without any Corruption stacks which would take me to 1,426 when fully stacked.
I also agree, that is just to high, I wonder what his other stats are like. I am at like 50% duration with food, i am tempted to remove 33confusion duration and put it somewhere else, drop a few points in Condition damage and take 2 Givers weapons for added condition duration.
Remember, 2100 is with 25 stacked sigil and signet of domination. With no stacks and no signet, I’ll be around 1670, this is without a traited scepter. I do have full ascended.
As far as my other stats go, I have 60% duration with food, around 17k hp iirc, and I believe over 3k armor, or at least very close, with a crit chance around 30 I think. These are not exact though, purely from memory.
Full undead runes and the 25 point minor in chaos help significantly.
Condition duration is not hugely helpful at a certain point, especially with the scepter torment. The duration is so long as a base value that the likelihood of it being cleansed is massive, so your points are much better spent getting more pain per second.

@Pyro, just curious, is this in reference to the glamour support build or another you’re running?

This is a variant on a PU build, for smaller skirmishes. The glamour support build comes in around 1.1k condition damage iirc. The condition damage for that build is more of an accessory to everything else, hence the very low value.
So how much extra damage are you doing with that extra 430 Condition damage? for me 101 Condition damage adds a mere 36 damage to a 7.75 second duration bleed. So tthat 400 Condition damage adds a mere 144 bleed damage, Now i know conditions stack and everything but do you really see that much difference when fighting with 2,100 condition damage then you would 1670?
what are your Traits and other stats like? Personally i think i would rather have the Condition damage reduced and add something elsewhere. How long is your condition duration?
I find the sweet spot for Toughness is 1600-1650.

Additional damage is going to be determined per second, per stack.
430 ConD
Bleed: 21.5 additional damage per stack per second
Burn: 107.5 additional damage per second
Poison: 43 additional damage per second
Torment: 16.125 additional damage per stack per second on a stationary target, 32.25 additional damage per stack per second on a moving target
These numbers get real big real fast considering how they are all calculated per second, and per stack with torment and bleed. With the scepter torment, it adds 161.25 damage per second on a moving target. Over the 10 seconds or so of duration, that’s an additional 1.6k damage.
Ok, here is a screeny of my stats. Quick overview:
- 30% crit chance
- 2836 armor
- 1676 Condition Damage with 0 stacks on the sigil and no Signet of Domination
- 30% boon duration
- 60% condition duration
- 18.8k hp
Whats your trait loadout?
Guessing 30 into Chaos, maybe 25 just to hit the 5% extra
guessing 5% extra condition from the runes as well?
what weapon sigils are you using?
Its all the Ascended gear that is helping you, i have 2 Rabid rings and thats it.
From the picture i’m guessing 20/0/30/20/0.
/edit: Yeah, should have seen those 0 healing power <.<

It’s actually 20/20/30 with full undead runes. I’ll probably be running 10/25/25/0/10 with perplexity runes and a slightly different weapon set soon, but since those runes are absolutely begging for a nerf, I’ll wait for that to hit before I actually move to a set like that.
I have them for the added duration (currently bugged lol) and the 46 The 6/6 will be nerfed, guessing either reeplaced or given a 15-20second cool down

Anet tends to balance with machetes and sledgehammers. I won’t gamble that they will still be useable after being ‘balanced’.
I just hope they see their own fault and don’t just do a full-out across-the-board confusion-nerf again -.-
Mesmer confusion duration needs a buff, those runes need a nerf.

I’m quite partial to zero toughness, including WvW.
Then again I like living on the edge :p

If Anet is here (and can read!) an EASY fix:
Change the 6/6 to increase Confusion duration by 15% and increase Confusion damage by 25%. Bang. Done.
That is ALL it needs, the Confusion on Interrupt was a stupid idea anyway, it makes sense but with no cool down (and likely soon to be to high a cool down) its either to powerful (current) or too weak (soon to be)
The Mesmer skills that give confusion need a 25% base increase.
