Yesterday i accidentally encountered a quite funny/useful portal trick, of which of which I’m not aware if people knew it.

When you go through a portal while a revenant is using Unrelenting Assault on you, that revenant will actually go through the portal with you, as he’s basically stuck to you.
This can be bad and good at the same time, since you can separate the rev from a fight this way, or accidentally bring him to a contested point.

Nevertheless I found it quite funny when it happened to me, the rev was trying to break down the gate at Legacy, while this “accident” happily ported us back to the midfight where he was joyfully slaughtered.

being able to be present simultaneously at 2 locations is a very huge advantage in sPvP: decaping/capturing a point and instantly returning back into the fight creates extreme pressure on enemies

people complain about double moa because, well, its the most obvious thing to do with continuum split but they have no idea how powerful double portals are

People don’t complain about double portals because it’s almost impossible to use CS with portal in a meaningful fashion. You’d realize this if you weren’t just making stuff up to complain on the forums about.

Obviously you don’t either, cause it’s impossible to double portal. What are you even doing on the MESMER forums anyway?

Having the capability to be in 2 places at the same time is the only reason Mesmer has been able to hold a spot on SPvP teams consistently through balance patches. Mesmer needs to undergo some core class changes before we can discuss essentially neutering Mesmers main offering to a PvP team.

If you find a situation where you F5, actual do something useful, and then use a double portal effectively let me know.

I am happy to say that this same trick helped me not only finish my unrelenting assault which killed the mesmer but the mesmer graciously led me to a free point that wasnt capped by my team which I happily took over.
