Sylvari Mesmer is the best thing ever.
Human with Dwama heal and HoB +1.
Agreed! When trolling an entire zerg 30+ Blurred Frenzy + 3 clone Distortion shatter + Mimic + Take Root + Blurred Frenzy again = lulz

The sylvari fern hound elite is great when soloing with the mesmer. It last 60sec (which is double every other summon any other race gets) and has a short cooldown of 180. (most others are 240)
While that alone is great, stat wise its very useful. Alot of summons, both class and race, suffer for kitten poor stats that make them not even worth the casting time. But not the fern hound, its very healthy and will almost always live the entire 60sec.
After using it alot on my mesmer I tried using my warband summon on my charr engi seeing as supply drop is my only real option for a elite as an engi. Maybe because it summons 2 instead of 1 but they die rather fast, only last 30 seconds and has a long cooldown. HUGE let down.
Seeing as the mesmer has crappy elites for solo pve I strongly recommend people go sylvari. That and Take Root is a cool elite as well.
Sylvari Mesmer from Day -1. Now if only Sylvari Light Cultural looked good on menfolk …
And yes, Take Root is fun for damage avoidance. Heck, any Sylvari racial can be workable in a fight, tbh.
Other 80s: Any but Warrior
Also a Sylvari Mesmer from Day 1
Running around in the Tier 2 Sylvari Cultural looking like a butterfly (and then exploding into more purple butterflies) whilst annoying people with stealths and clones is what it’s all about!

What are you saying? Sylvari Light Cultural looks awesome on the menfolk, especially in pink. This is a mesmer too.
I am also a Slyvari Mesmer and I love glowing purple as well as shooting purple. I believe that the most pupleness (or pinkness) can be acheved by being a Slyvari, thus they are the best mesmers.
Similar to above photo but I chose a more purple hue to match my dual Whisperblades! He was my first character in the head-start early access or whatever you want to call it. Now if only they had an illusionary staff, my life would be complete.
Sylvari Mesmer since they first released during on of the BWEs and loving it.
Take Root is wonderful for PvE. Either it saves you from something horrible (Vet Karka Roll), and/or you get those 5x Mortars that do decent damage/bleeds AND act as distractions for enemies.
Summon Fern Hound … probably my least favorite of the trio of Sylvari Elites, but still a nice summon. The fact it is completely immune to conditions is great when facing something that loves to put out Bleeds, Burnings, and Poison. The fact that he usually LIVES the entire 60s in my normal build (I.Defender + Signet of Illusions) is icing on the cake.
Summon Druid Spirit. I think I’m one of the few that actually likes him in PvE. 5x Targets hit for Tagging for Loot in big mobs. Massive Health. And the Immobilize is great for kiting. I’ve never noticed his Regen granting or Condition absorbing properties … but that is likely due to how low of a chance they go off similarly to untraited Ranger Spirits or is completely bugged. Still not sure which on that (And hard to test as my Phantasms usually give Regen and I try to shed conditions via Mantra of Recovery + Mender’s Purity anyways).

Norn ftw, i have been trying snow leopard form as elite lately as you get for 30 secs, 3x sprints, a stealth and also a cripple which is fun for chasing someone down

^ That’s my approach too. That dash skill exceeds portal range. It’s awesome.

Mesmers are so much fun to play, I can’t decide which alt is more fun right now!
Grasping Vines is awesome in WvW. I’ve used it many times on those OP elementalists. They RTL + mist form, and I’ll Blink + Grasping Vines and drop a Chaos Storm on them. Gives my group enough time to get on top of the elementalist and crush em.
