Just felt like bragging a bit or at least throw some love towards sylvari.

I’d like to call phantasm camo for WvW. Using sylvari glow ability with their skimpy armor I have been trying to create a Character that looks like phantasms and phantasms look like clones. Plus adding the new glowy lightening backpiece I get that added glow that makes people second guess. This way when fighting small 1v1 or 1vX they have reduced odds in finding me and not knowing which is a decoy and which will hit hard.

It works wonders! I wish I had video capabilities to show people rage on retaliation and fury phantasms or blow their entire burst on a dumb little clone. I run all Phantasm build stuff, GS, scepter or sword/torch or focus. I’ve been thinking about using sword/pistol too. Using Decoy, Blink, xxx and Mass Invis you get that final added camo that is hard to break!

I think it’s interesting that you’ve concentrated so much on this, but hey more power to you.

As a fellow sylvari, I’m very impressed! If I ever choose to run a phantasm build, I’m definitely doing something like this. Care sharing which dyes you chose?

I used “ice” dyes but my skin color is also pink with some white and the glow is a whitish pink. I plan to get celestial when I can afford it.

Heh; this is the very reason I love Mesmer so much; and im comparing to any character class ive played with in Any MMO…. you can actually ‘trick’ people…

sure, smart players know what to look for, but in the heat of the moment with Blink and Decoy etc, even a seasoned player can loose track of the real Mesmer… and generally only for a few seconds or less are they confused; but those few seconds can be Vital to Kicking some serious kitten .

I find it absolutely HILARIOUS how often I can just stand still in sPvP/WvW doing nothing but my auto attack, and people move right around me like im a clone…. I think this is most effective with a GS; because the auto attack does some decent DPS…

Im actually really intrested in this. Would you mind sharing more???… What kind of dye. You said Ice but there are a lot. What kind of armor are you using etc?

Id love it if you would share. I understand this was a lot of work though.

I main used the dye “Pink Ice” with “Rose Ice” highlights.

My shoulder, head and gloves are all hidden so allow the glow aspect of sylvari shine threw as much as possible. Orchid Chest, Leggings and shoes for the pieces that show. Again adding the lightening back piece to help your back glow pink/purplish so you look slightly less “solid.” Also I really think celestial dye could help be the icing on the cake.

Now you just need some mist weapons.

Sounds fun but, to your opponent, won’t your armour just appear red, blue or green depending on your server’s colour for the week? Still looks cool though :-)

That is, if they use team colors.

for example i don’t use team colours

thats cool though cudos, if they had a back piece like whisperblade or something would give you a nice glow, suppose the lightning back piece will have to do for now

I didn’t even realise team colours could be switched off. Must have overlooked that on my ventures through the settings menu. Pah, learn something new everyday.
