Turns out you have to PM a dev directly, and get banned for it. So Martyrdom might get you 1 bug fixed. Then again, maybe not.

That ban lol, and thanks Pyro for taking the bullet.

Don’t mean to fanboi or defend that he got banned for it, but I can see how posting the guys email and inciting others to “spam” him, could get you in trouble.

Pyro meant well, no doubt, but he could have at least waited on a personal response for a day or two before riling up a angry mob to spam a dev. ;-)

I could see how Devs have better things to do with their time then read dozens of emails with the same content.

It sure did work though, so thanks Pyro! ;-)

The mesmer community as a whole owes Pyro there gratitude imo. If Anet was smart they would hire pyro and not ban him. FREE PYRO!!!!!!!!!!!

+1.. Really sucks to see one of the mesmer players that contributed SO MUCH to the mesmer community get banned over trying to get a MAJOR bug fixed fast. Give us Pyro back!

He has always been polite and he has always contributed to get better the class reporting bug and stuff. He has always helped the community too.

Well, getting rid of all mesmers is one way to deal with mesmer bugs. No class = no bugs.

As for the “thank you” post, I have mixed feelings about it; we’re grateful for getting back something that wasn’t supposed to be taken from us, like with exploding illusions on stealthing targets, at the cost of panicking, spending time writing on forums and having people out of the game? That feels weird.

I have mixed feelings as well. I haven’t been a fan of Pyro as of late as he was clearly becoming more hostile by the day. This was the inevitable conclusion to that process. However, I also feel that much of his ferocity was warranted. Killing the glamour build… Neutering confusion until it’s nearly worthless… The constant nerfs to Portal… No compensation for the nerf to Timewarp when other classes got some… Buffing Moa morph to the point that it’s safer NOT to use it…

What’s really sad about all this is Pyro was one of the most passionate people for this game. He tried so many other correct ways to bring such problems to the devs attention and was ignored almost all the time. If he did get a response, it was the usual “we’re looking into it” and not a word was heard of since. If pestering a dev to the point of getting banned is the only effective way of being heard, it makes you wonder if they devs are really listening, regardless of how much they say they are.

I’m glad this has been fixed, although agree that pyro should be unbanned. However hostile any remarks may have been, they were all for the benefit of the mesmer class and the game in general.
