I was thinking this is an obvious combo, but if an enemy is in the Chaos Storm, then the stealth is lost and get the revealed debuff, even though the channel continues and the blast combo happens at the end. Don’t think this is intended, it then becomes a choice between stealth or giving all the clones chaos shields. No conflict with the other ethereal fields.

This occurs with any persistent aoe field. I first noticed this on my thief when using the throw gunk skill, and later on my Mesmer. Whether this is working as intended or simply an oversight, I can’t really say.

Edit: should have said any persistent damaging aoe field.

You know what else is buggy? Mixing Stealth with Decoy. If you mix them, when one ends, you’ll become visible for the rest of the duration of the other.

It doesn’t make a difference in PvE, but in PvP… /wrist.

Also, I just tested Prestige and Chaos Storm… I was invis in it. Don’t see your problem.

EDIT: I didn’t test with damage. Okay, ignore the last sentence.

Yeah I was thinking to check throw gunk on the thief, as it is almost identical to chaos storm, so no surprises it does the same.

You know what else is buggy? Mixing Stealth with Decoy. If you mix them, when one ends, you’ll become visible for the rest of the duration of the other.

Now this something that annoys me too, all the stealths that thief have seem to stack fine with a limit on max duration, I don’t know why decoy is an exception.

Edit: just checking in the mists, no matter how much stealth you stack The Prestige seems to force the mesmer out of stealth early too.

Now this something that annoys me too, all the stealths that thief have seem to stack fine with a limit on max duration, I don’t know why decoy is an exception.

It’s not a true stealth, therefore it actually bypasses the stealth cooldown. Love it, don’t hate it.

I do like the skill, but if you could add the prestige to decoy and have the trait that creates a clone on dodge, then that could be a nice combination to confuse an enemy rather than rely on decoy alone.

Edit: just after typing that I tried dodge-rolling during prestige, I think I’ll just put it back in the pile of skills that have quirks, and not the pile with multi-faceted skills.

Edit 2: At least you could hit presitige, dodge to create clone, then decoy to get past the revealed debuff, and creating a second clone in the process, culling would help immensely so you can then create two or three clones while remaining invisible to the enemy.

if you have stealth and decoy and one ends before the other, you will no longer appear to be transparent but you remain invisible to enemies.

a fun way to test this is to use any stealth skill then use the mystic fountain in the obisidian sanctum. this can be used to your benefit; i find opaqueness to be advantageous while making precision jumps and being invisible makes it all the better.

also, you will always become revealed if you deal direct damage while stealthed that doesn’t include an illusion. mind wrack and cry of frustration will reveal you, and i’ve found mirror blade and winds of chaos to be notorious of unexpectedly revealing you due to their nature of being bouncing projectiles
