Hi guys,
on YT i saw this awesome video
I usually use focus only when i roam with my guild, and most of the times i try to pull guys outside keeps, but find it really hard.
A friend of mine told me that the more ranged you are from the enemy, the higher the pull is, and that the best spot to put the pull is at half the height of the walls, but to me i dont really see the differnce.
Can you guys give some suggestions?
Is it better to put the tempral curatin near the enemy or near the cliff?
Ummmm, I think what your friend is trying to describe has to do with the axis of the pulls. So depending where the target is, where the curtain is placed can dictate precisely what line the target is pulled in. Depending on the scenario that might result in what your friend described as “the higher the pull”. You may have noticed that in towers and keeps, the lip of the wall sometimes stops the target from falling down, but on other occasions the target can be pulled right over it. In fact this seems to happen more often than not when multiple pulls are used by a number of mesmers. The reason being that the “velocity” if you will seems to bypass the clipping aspect of the wall. Thus, if placed right, the curtain can pull in a more direct line by being down the wall some, to increase velocity, thus resulting in the pull overcoming the clipping element of the lip on top of the walls.
At least I think that’s what happens.

the guy pulled will follow a line from:
1. his inital position
2. the center of the line: —-X-—
3. remaining range, that should be something like 450
This is what i know, i would like to understand if there’s any way to make the pull more consistent, how do you use Ross Biddle?
Does he mean this maybe? o.o Does this even work? xD
I think the the curtain pull is also a point black aoe, wich only visually pulls foes on the ground, but technically it pulls them to the center of the curtain.
Fun video, and I do this all the time in EotM.

Uhh, its hard to describe, usually a fight if very hectic and I’m running on impulse and instinct. Thinking only of wall pulls though, I look for the most direct line from the targets feet “out”, and i place it closer to the top. However im going to try your friends suggestion and see if it makes any difference.
Pulling people off the walls requires that they are on top of the little “border” or on a ramp so they don’t find any obstacle, like this: http://i.imgur.com/ErVWjV5.png
The green “enemy” is safe, since the wall border will keep him on the wall, but you can pull the rest of them

Multiple pulls in succession will overcome the border.

I suspect it’s more connected with collision detection and physics than an intended mechanic: for example I’ve seen people shoot into the air after bouncing of the “step” on the border of the wall, and while they were in the air a second pull will pull them over the ledge, but pulling 2 times against the “step” won’t make them magically drop from the wall…
(tl:dr: it’s weird)
