The nerf it got to alacrity many disagree with yet there’s one way that everything coulda been fixed in the first place.
I’ve said it a dozen times now. But the alacrity change obviously is gonna be an issue.
Yet all that woulda needed to be done “without breaking mesmer yet maintaining a nerf to alacrity” would be to nerf alacrity that is shared with teammates down to 33% and keep the alacrity on self at 66%.
Bam. Now all mesmer builds still work but bunker isn’t as effective.

Let’s blow this post up and hopefully get anet to notice.

Well if they separate alacrity into 2 parts, Self and shared, then it would be a lot easier for the devs to balance as well being that a nerf to alacrity will effect the class a lot. But a nerf to shared alacrity would only effect how well of a role it could fill. He’ll even if they wanted to tone down mesmer itself and not mess with how well of support it could give them they could give minor nerfs to self alacrity. Since they have 2 different categories to work with the balance would be easier as well as move a lot more smoothly.

I’ve seen this suggestion a thousand times, and I’m tired of it now.

Here’s why it’s bullkitten:
1. Chrono Bunker was strong LARGELY BECAUSE OF THE SELF-ALACRITY, NOT BECAUSE OF THE GROUP ALACRITY. Your change would only affect Chrono in PvE.
2. Chrono Bunker WAS ALREADY CLOSE THE GROUND THANKS TO THE QUICKNESS CHANGES. The most powerful thing it had, was the ability to come into a fight & stomp someone out/res the whole team very rapidly.
Otherwise, there were a few builds in this game that could 1v1 it and win. Namely, any Reaper build in this game…

No, what ANet actually needs to do, is get their hand out of their bum, revert the freaking resistance nerfs to kitten no one would ever seriously run outside of WvW.

ACTUALLY Rework staff & scepter to be viable weapons. Making it so that staff is a hybrid power/condi weapon.

Rework the 3 trash tier off hands mesmer has. Delete the crappy phantasm on torch.

Give us another freaking main-hand weapon. Power OR Condi would be very much appreciated. As both only have 2 “viable” “main hands” (Including 2h weps).

Buff some of our useless utilities, like mirror images. Why is this on a 45 second cooldown, yet decoy (which is stronger) is on a 40 second cooldown?
Why does precog still have a cast time?
Why are the wells cooldowns untouched?
Why are our Chono Traits untouched?
Why is timewarp, despite being severely weakened in most game modes, still on a 180 second cooldown. Despite that Gravity Well, an easily argued stronger elite, is on a 90 second cooldown?
Hey, we just buffed the kitten out of boon corrupt Necro. Can arcane thievery get some mother kittening love?
Can we replace phantasmal defender with something actually useful?
Can we get rid of some of the weird kitten after cast delay on our skills? Seriously, has anyone else noticed that sword 2 has an after cast in which you can’t dodge or do anything initially, unless you cancel the attack slightly early?

Have I made my point yet, are we about done?

Mesmer is one of the clunkiest classes in this bloody game. That takes ridiculous concentration and luck to even accomplish anything on, when compared to other classes that take none of that, and yet hit harder.

And that’s not to say that other classes can’t make similar lists. Holy kitten I know they can.
But that doesn’t hurt my argument. Only help it.
ANet hasn’t actually balanced the game, or brought us any build variety.

All they’ve been doing, has been removing build variety step by step. Shifting the meta to make it look like they’re doing something good. “listening to the community”

First balance that makes me feel like actually crying lolll, Why is it that all classes cannot get balanced? I’m looking at other game, mainly blade and soul these days, where I feel like all the kittening 9 available classes are actually balanced in a proper way.
But yeah no, anet rather like getting high and destroying everything with a bulldozer while repairing with. Band aid
If anyone was telling me to go in a building held with only kittening glue, I would look at him and tell him to go kitten himself.
We’ll anet, you’re gluing your game together while removing all kind of solid foundation you had and then act like it’s rock solid and stable like Egypt s pyramid.
They take their community for granted that’s the problem and most will just roll around, thrown like tennis ball from class to class imposed by Anets FoTM
We’ll I’m not. The game is freshly uninstalled. You just lost a player that had been loyal since early beta.

Having alacrity at 66% was a big design mistake in the first place, that just showed how inexperienced our balance team is.

It was such a huge boost in every aspect of the mesmer, that is made chronomancer mandatory, leaving no room for future elite-specs and other build variations.

The sad part is, that the mesmer needed that boost.

Why haven’t the devs even tried to compensate the mesmer for the huge alacrity nerf?
They could have started with increasing the alacrity uptime from ‘Flow of Time’ or ‘Improved Alacrity’ again to break our fall. From my perspective, this might not be enough and they should improve the core trait lines but at least, we could see that they attempted to not only butcher the mesmer.

The same problem with ‘Well of Precognition’. It nerfed in the past, now they butchered it but at the same time did not revert some of the nerfs from the past. Why does it still have the long casting time?

- inscreased delay between iDefender attacks by 50% to avoid excessive sustain
- added a skill fact on Blurred Frenzy to document the aftercast
- fixed a server crash

What if they reduced alacrity to 15% and made it stack intensity? Then they could more easily control how much recharge the mesmer gets vs the party by making it so mesmers can always stack more on themselves than on the party.

Gravity Well’s cool down should not be 180 seconds. Time Warp has a 10 second duration and Gravity only 3 seconds. not only that but, Gravity Well along with only a couple other wells do not grant instant quickness and must wait for cast time. If GW is part of a chrono’s f5 rotation, then that would be really kittenty, as GW being such a good cc ability needs to come out first on a f5 rotation so you can lay down other wells while the mobs are unable to attack you.

but really, so many of our phants are just trash..
torch 5, disenchanter, defender, focus 5,
staff 3 could defintely use a buff or something, cuz the attack is underwhelming for a primarily condi-based weapon that MIGHT get one hit if the kitten ai is accurate enough (and by watching the paths the mages projectile takes, the enemy better be standing on the exact same elevation no more than 300-450 range away from the phantasm, otherwise it’s a complete and utter whiff)
