Dire amulet isn’t available in PvP, so a condition build can only have either toughness or vitality (but not both). I.e., they cannot actually maximize both offense and defense in PvP.

Condi rev and condi necro are strong specs, but I can’t think of anything else which would give you trouble.

What class are you running, and what cleanses are you using?

In my opinion the best condi amulets right now are viper and wanderer, which are squishier than rabid/rampagers, but do way more damage and have way better pressure to the duration added alone, since if you can’t cleanse, you won’t be able to mitigate as much damage by waiting the condis out, which forces you to cleanse or die.

Vipers works best on classes with a ton of active defenses (rev and in theory, mesmer).

Wanderer’s works best on classes that have novel ways of using that precision (necro) and have good ways to mitigate damage.

And as a general note, run inspiration on your build. I don’t think domination/dueling builds work in this meta unless you can count on cleanse from your teammates, so taking inspiration and the clone-generating traits in chronomancer, you’ll have enough cleanse to stand a chance at least (though they’ll win if you can’t burst them fast enough).

If you don’t have the expansion you can run dom/dueling/insp with mantras and do quite well vs. conditions 1v1. Thats the build synergy I ended up liking the most from pre-HoT, though it doesn’t really work well with chronomancer.

Your reasoning on why condition builds are so strong is interesting, and might be worth discussing if you weren’t 100% completely wrong.

Condition builds aren’t op right now. They’re not meta and are infrequently played. The fact that you’re complaining about how strong they are just speaks volumes about the amount of thought and experience behind this complaint.

Also you’re complaining about confusion mesmers. That’s a pretty good benchmark of inexperience too.

Yup.

Like, even though there is a nice Berserker Condi setup, I’m still going to run Zerkerberker because, despite not having toughness, I can rek an entire team with it very quickly. It’s effective, no diamond skin shut out, can’t cleanse a stun/arc diviner/hundred blades combo xD

It’s not that condi can’t be put to good use in PvP, or that a team with it can’t force the enemy team into certain setups or back into corners. It’s just that power is more effective.

Also power creep vs toughness -_-u

I’m not sure if you’re talking just about Mesmer or the meta as a whole, but condi reaper and condi rev are extremely powerful in the current meta and see lots of use in high tier pvp right now. Condi mes not so much (there’s one on NA) but I think it’d be foolish to junk that something like condi reaper isn’t meta at this point, even if people are squandering its potential by blindly copying noscoc.

Tbh I’m finding it boring again, now that the HoT novelty has worn off.

Finding it more fun to talk about the game rather than playing it, and that’s a shame.

Wvw equally boring sadly.

the mets is not condi at all. sure the composition turn to be 1 condi class which is as i state befire the perfect composition (depends on the enemy composition)
as condi push the enemy to use skills, heal, utilities faster than power (which push to use heal mainly)
so necro going with carrion and rev with viper – both not full condi rather hybrid. which both started with carrion guard if you remember it.

now can condi mesmer fill this role. be sure i tested it several times over the last month. its hard compare to necro and rev. as our dmg burst rellay on illusions. so more 1v1 or if i manage to pull off good burst than yes its better. but in average is less then rev and necro
