Maybe some of you already know it, but:
I don’t know why this game keeps blowing my mind in every thing I discover. Today I’ve seen that the new specialization of mesmer, the Chronomancer, already had its place in Guild Wars story.
Chronomancer was supposed to be one of the two new professions of Guild Wars Utopia, the fourth campaign of Gw1. This campaign was finally canceled, because they didn’t have time to implement all what they wanted and probably technical limitations. Most of its stuff stuff was finally introduced in both the expansion Eye of the North and Gw2. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_Utopia
The second profession was supposed to be the Summoner. Thinking about how the mesmer in gw2 is so based in illusions, clearly this profession is a mix of those two ideas.
Also mesmers have a lot of synergy with asuras theme, coincidence Asuras was one of the main things to come with Utopia.
There’s nearly no information about the class, just it was supposed to be a sort of time mage. But I’ve found some good concept art you can see in the pictures.
But it doesn’t end here. Chronomancer was also a project for gw2, as it can be seen here: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Amantis/Chronomancer
Well played Anet.

Anet blew my mind once. During live streaming they announced their true thoughts/understanding/concept of Mesmer. They dubbed this…

It’s legit cause I have a backstory and attached picture.
I hope the execution lives up to at least a fraction of the hype.
I really want this to be good.
Until I see the actual specialization system and how it works, I’m still of the mind set that we’re going to be left behind other classes.
No doubt mes is best paired with asuras. They even have racial skills that do confusion and 3 sec daze. I sitll regret making human mesmer until this day. Too much investment to change char now.

You must have a lot of extra space on your mesmers utility bar to even bring up racial util options.

If your referring to Pain Inverter I personally feel is useless. No offense. If you like it all the power to you. As far as Technobabble, that is something i’d maybe use only because of the 3s daze however personally I think the Mantra for daze is still better. But that’s just my opinion.

Technobabble is more fun in a MoC zerker ranger build – perhaps GS+SB, going for those interrupts/dazes and massive maul damage.

agreed with viable option for Ranger.
Honestly I am just hoping for shatter or phantasm based dps mechanics to be replaced by real skills and traits that do consistent damage.

Regret nothing! The first Mesmer was a human, (implied by human lore).
