Been trying out different roaming duo setups, after test Guardian, engi, mesmer, ranger, thief and necro I think Thief and tanky mesmer might be the strongest possible setup.
What duo teams do you ppl use?
Lately been trying out a new build, wont give any more info about it than its a developed Shatter cat heavy build. Its wery experemental and have not encountered anyone with this setup before. Big direct and condition dmg, extreme survival and good mobility.

You’re using traited Staff and Sword (no trait on Focus and no mender’s purity), Orrian Trufle and Meat Stew. I feel like you have -condition duration in there, so possible runes of melandru. I was thinking you’d have the -40% condition food, but it’s definitely Truffle and Meat Stew.
I’ve duo-ed with a thief friend of mine. It didn’t work too well though because we had literally no coordination. I could never predict when he would stealth us and vice versa. Often times we would just run in different directions because we noticed different targets in different areas, or going different areas.
I do have a very good friend who was my partner in wow for arena who I’m sure I could have a good duo with. He’s making a staff mesmer and I think it’ll compliment my melee mesmer very well. That is if his staff bounces go to me instead of his clones.
The tanky Mesmer doesnt become good until you reach a 5 man squad IMO.
Strongest for insta-gibbing. Note that in the video, he was fighting vs at least 5 people the entire time. They would respawn and run back if they downed, which was why it was a slow battle.
To be perfectly honest, guardian > tanky mesmer any day. Couple a well played shatter mesmer with a bunker guard with AoE condi removal, high dodge heals and boon share, and you’ve got yourself a pretty sick duo. The only alternative to that, I would say would be thief with the guardian instead of the mesmer, however a well played shatter mesmer is far superior to a well played thief.

Yes. Tanky mesmer (built right), with thief. Cant lock down the thief due to high stealth, meanwhile cant drop the mesmer due to tankyness. If either gets into trouble, the other is there to bail them out.
I can see the build you’re running is very similar to what Ive been running with. Only, judging by the condition procs there are still tweaks you could do to get more out of it. I’d love to see the prototype you’re running atm though.
Thief + Mesmer is actually pretty good. Joint up with a thief on my server, no voice chat, we won a 2 v 12. That same thief then partnered up with a warrior and 2 manned hills. As much as he is a good player, Mesmer + Thief does work very well.

My favouriye duo is with a high stealth thief because, well, they have so much stealth! When i try to duo with someone with low mobility/stealth they sometimes get focussed when i target drop. And when they go down theres not much i can do as im pretty glassy, especially in an outnumbered situaion. When i duo with a thief they can alsays drop shadows refugee to revive. I also like roaming with mesmers because theyre sinply my favourite!
So: anyone with mobility and or stealth .

I like with my Guardian. I rarely got any Thief friend. Well Guardian Tanking and i just become the Hitter. If enemy smart enough to aim well i stealth. I use GS So both of us have sucks Mobility So it just win or lose. No retreat option. But we’re good. Hehe
