I have noticed that when I use a Mesmer there is a ton of mob spawn. There can be three adds but in a matter of seconds I will be overrun by four or five when there should only be three? Are the clones triggering extra spawns or what? It only happens on the Mesmer and too frequently to be not something out of the ordinary. This seems to happen the more I use clones, are they triggering an increased mob spawn or what? It really drags down playing the Mesmer as it has been fun with this difficult exception.

Hmm.. maybe your just imagining it

Maybe its your DPS as other classes have a much easier time killing mobs so their are less mobs around then they have to fight. A mesmer is pvp oriented and thus the mobs will take a bit longer to kill and since your fighting longer there is a higher chance to pull more mobs and thus your dealing with more.

I’ve noticed this whenever I’ve tried to use Staff and Scepter in PvE compared to the Sw and GS which can clear the trash mobs faster.

I have been using the staff and scepter/shield, strangely though the GS takes longer to kill mobs which is why the staff is only for packs. Scepter is more than enough for one and I can control agro. I use shatter a lot which makes short use of single mobs. Staff is more AOE as. The GS was great but recently I’ve had the bounce of it drastically increase? It now pulls too much if I pull out the clone, and the other traits of Domination are far weaker than those of Illusion for maintaining health. It may change if I change gear, I’m just trying to see how effective Seraph gear is with the Mesmer.

I forgot to add when in Lothar’s Homestead I attacked the mobs through the door since I use the letter to get there. Somehow two more mobs after I was kill ran off through the door as if they were aggro’d outside the house? I was in the inner room not the outer so where did they come from? I’m just saying more than once I’ve had additional adds come from out of nowhere. That camp to the East with the repair. There are three White Mantle there and yet I had four or five attacking me. There was no event where they attack the homestead at the time. It’s happened in the regular open world as well. I’m just wondering if there is a dynamic spawn mechanic in the game given the only time I see it is when others go by the area?

So seraph stats have no power on them at all, that’s why Greatsword (a power weapon) is doing such little damage for you. GS is actually a fairly decent AoE-ish weapon for mesmers, considering GS2 bounces and is on short CD, GS 3 is an actual AoE skill.

As for LD, there are random groups of white mantle soldiers that just roam around the map. Its likely that you are pulling in one of those groups that you didn’t see by accident.
