I have mixed feeling about Time Warp, is it really that valuable or how are you using it (on your self or on the monsters?)

So I am guessing the 1 second of double attacks is for a large group around a champ? Otherwise for solo or 2 players I may be at a distance the 1 sec on me is not that valuable, and monsters just run out of it if cast on them.

So what am I missing? they is this an Elite skill with very long cool down?

Time Warp gives you 1 sec of Quickness for 10 sec for up to 5 players. Cast it on yourselves. Monsters don’t move out of it. Quickness is 50% faster actions.

Quickness is an all around useful ability. It increases the speed of quite a few things, not just attacks. Basically anything channeled, like reviving, harvesting, stomping, etc. It also usually comes with some sort of drawback like reduced endurance regeneration, reduced healing or taking extra damage. Time Warp has none of these drawbacks, affects multiple people and is an ethereal combo field for the cherry on top.

Also, channeled things being faster can actually work against you.

Want to evade for 2 seconds with blurred frenzy? Now its only 1.33 seconds. Or what about those blocks? Yup, those last shorter aswell.

Ogher than that, time warp is a pretty positive thing.

Start practicing dropping it in zerg fights…..it’s awesome.

Very tricky to pull off, but man….if it lands right, the field is suddenly covered with stomp-able invaders.

It also affects the attack spee of phantasms, so the warden protection lasts shorter for example. However the cooldowns aren’t affected, not yours, nor the CD’s of the phantasms, means it increases the DpS of the channeled phantasms more than others:
iDuellist, iWarden > iSwordsman, iWarlock.

Also Time Warp is by far the highest damage skill in the whole game (except fotm mimic xD), if you calculate what it deals in a dungeon against a boss for example:

The ø DpS of a party member is between 5k and 10k. If you calculate:
7k x 5members x 0.5 × 10sec = 175’000 Damage

:) Yes, very underrated imo :P It’s just annoying if somone (especially rangers and gs mesmers) are going on full range and don’t benefit from TW, or when the other mesmer goes dual TW with you -.-‘’ (it doesn’t stack).

btw: TW also has no channel time like dagger strom of the thief, means you can go for your own DpS during the 175’000 Damage dome doing’ it’s job

Gosh, I hate it when that happens.

Thats why I allways post it in pugs, but normally i play in ts with my mesmer buddygirl <3 yes a real gamergirl

Dunno about you guys but personally I feel this is one of the best Elites ingame…from a “PvX” stand point anyway

Aye, in general Time Warp is our strongest Elite by a landslide. It’s biggest selling point is that it’s never wrong.

Both Moa Morph and MI can run into situations where they don’t provide a benefit. Time Warp never does. It has group utility, personal use, defence, offence, combo potential, it got it all.

Until you cast it on a wall … by accident … most of the time … maybe … ugh …

And yea – TW is the best elite ingame.

I personally can’t get much use out of my timewarp, when I’m alone atleast.

It makes your skills faster, it just doesn’t seem very usefull O.o. Whereas mass invis is always usefull. For offense, defense, support… everything :o.

Yea I randomly cast mass invisibility too during a bossfight /irony off :P

TW en solo is a bit weaker yes, however it still deals about around 20k damage. But I guess the best soloer’s are the pets like that wolf thing from CE or sylvari dog, human dog etc.

I don’t really go solo in dungeons, anyway.

The long cd was justified because quickness had 100% atk speed increase before, but they nerfed it to 50% and while all the other classes got some kind of compensation for the nerf TW remained the same for mes. I don’t find it usefull atm, 50% atk speed for 10 sec on 240 sec cd is not that impresive, i prefer 2 use mass invi in case of trouble. Having a skill that i can use once every 4 minutes for a 10 sec area buff is not my ideea of a skill i should equip.
They should add a reflect projectile to it or buff it in some way or maybe reduce the cd on it to make it viable again at least in some areas of the game. I rarely see it being used anymore by mesmers even in dungeons.

Time Warp is probably the best elite in-game.
On paper the cooldown looks long, but when you’re actually playing in-game the time flies in.

as i look from fun side.. it will be subjective.. so it ll be “play as what/how ever u like to play”..

on the other hand.. from my side there are 2 competitive areas

• offical one is Tpvp, [where could be have almost none disscussion about that is it competitive or not]
• unoffical, GvG, [where it is not in game mode, however who most competitive players left this game cuz of lack of it, and which is built/required from competitive guild oriented players for fair matches..]
  - where as anet saying WvW is competive area, i dont accept it, it sounds me marketing strategy..

for Tpvp where as i am not competitive player anymore except early of game..
dont wanna talk about it much.. and TW was %100 attack speed.. now dont know the quality of Tpvp game as well..

for GvG where guilds are making 15,20,25 players vs same numbered fair death matches..

as a logic/theorical TW is mandatory on effectives cuz of massive(5) players effects..

so it comes to compare TW vs other classes elites..
however where there is no restriction to take same class quantity in gvg matches..
it comes to mesmer vs other clasess.. so TW ll not be reason to take mesmer in your group.. calculated with overall class “efficient”.. so where i say for every mesmer TW ll be best efficient elite..(dunno does it needed required theory efficient craft vs other mesmer or race elites..)
anyway..

if i would like to theory math of TW for example in GvG.. as a novice..

1) usage of TW: on clash of melees for our melee train.. (my experiment)
usage effort, challenge: Easy

• cuz of 1/4 sec activation (more challenged than instant use)
• cuz of ground targeting and large aeo radius

2) effectiveness of TW: (*ll be filled soon)

• Burst/Spike (in limited time for more/better effects)
  - include for all skills
  so best use for skills that can be spammable (APS action per second)(as AA auto attacks DPS
  - cuz every class should be readied for skill rotations so usage of all skills ll let u auto attack skills or unneeded skills as excepect from your rotation..
• nerf with defansive skills
  - as where u need more channel/activation time skills as Blurred frenzy as on defansive use or other skills as similar as defansive use.. so TW gives negative effect for use kind of skills.. we can look from bug side or/and Risk/Reward factor.. it happened to me i jump in to for burst damage while was thinking 2.1/2 sec can evade me.. TW let me delayed more than 1 sec to blink away in Heavy Burst enviroment..
• Tw Grounding s mobility requires (enemy Fields + enemy mobility)
  gvg matches is far mobile to use 10 sec effectiveness of tw (means there is mostly no one stay in place as 10sec)
• Restriction to priority partying:
  after patch, while TW has wide radius that posibility %of party members probebly ll be in radius of TW so it ll required customization where as before patch who close to mid of TW radius ll get effect priorty
  i could miss much things here..

but u know how big efficient to survive 1 guy from downed with bannerexp.. in for overall efficient… or others… TW vs Tomes, plague, banner, entangle, daggerstorm…

Just to clarify the “Zelda is a he” thing …
