Torment doesn't do increased dmg when moving.
I confirm.
/Need higher 15 char.
ive noticed the same but i only tried 2-3 times with a random risen in cursed shore. i was waiting a thread like this one.
Haha really? You’d think they would test the single mechanic of the condition before implementing it live.
Not Just A Goodtime – 80 Asura Warrior
[PAXA]
It ticks 2x faster so total amount of damage is still 2x more.
It’s not bugged, it works that way.

The tooltip is misleading. Now need to look if the numbers go faster or not…

That’s what I’m wondering.
I tested it with a thief since i could apply it while he’s moving
The torment ticks the percentage when applied. So if he’s moving while being applied, it’ll do maximum damage and if he’s standing still (which is what he’s doing when you’re on a mesmer blocking) it’ll do minimum damage.
The real bug however is that even in the maximum damage it does significantly less damage compared to bleeding. I was pretty sure torment was supposed to tick 150% of a bleed?
Edit: Just read posts above me, didn’t check if it ticked faster during movement or not .. I just checked the damage popping up in different cases (from stillstanding to moving, from moving to stillstanding, stillstanding full duration and moving full duration). I’ll pay attention to the speed of ticks next time too. Would explain why it keeps ticking the same amount despite him changing movement

Argh i think he’s right. i remember a different speed of the numbers but forgot to mention it. few tries and lot of forum reading!
I believe that it makes 5 additional numbers if the target is moving… So instead of seeing 5 pop up per second, it becomes 10. Atleast i think it works like this, at some points while on my condition mesmer i saw a lot of numbers pop up.

Lyssa’s Grimoire – a guide every Mesmer should read.
nope nope nope, doesnt tick faster either.
tested it with a thief in PvP DPS trials.
applied skale venom, hit stationary heavy golem 3 times.
applied skale venom, hit the running heavy golem 3 times.
by the time torment finished they had both ±equal hp left.
(deviation caused by random crits when applying)
Hmm, i’ve been testing it and it seems to working fine. You’ll notice the speed of the numbers drastically speed up when the target moves. Otherwise it’s hard to see.
Apparently necros has similar issues too.

Maybe i’m wrong then about it not being broken. It’s kinda hard to tell with this ability. We’ll just have to have enough people try it and come to a consensus.
As far as I can tell it’s working but that may be me being a dummy. Have to go double check>

I can’t check it myself now, but some fellow necromancers ranted about torment being weaker than regular bleed and not increasing it’s damage when target moves… they run critshrouds and mentioned this in pve environment though.
