Traveller Runes?
I have the Traveler runes and they are fabulous. You gain a lot of in-combat mobility and it no longer takes forever to get across the map. Keep in mind that the 25% speed increase does not stack with swiftness.
What’s best about the runes? You can use other off-hand weapons without feeling guilty about it.
What’s worst about the runes? You lose whatever buff you were getting from your previous set of runes.
I got myself a set 2 days ago…
And oh my god I run so quickly x.x
The 15% boon duration is also nice for might stacking and stuff.

-Do you notice this 25% in-combat?
-And just to compare, before traveler did you try centaur?
I changed my centaur runes for traveller and i can say is worth it.
I used to have perma swiftness thanks to using mirror heal and having some boon duration, but that meant having my heal always in cooldown. And you have to keep pressing the button each 15 seconds, with travellers you gain some quality of life (i’m kind of lazy)
DPS wise travellers are worse but it is barely noticeable, same goes for the small bump in defensive stats.
The downside is i am a bit slower than with centaurs (25% movespeed vs 33% of swiftness), but im happy with them, and the condi and boon duration are way better for my build.
I have been running a variation of the Blackwater build using Traveler runes and love it. Unfortunately I can’t see myself using any other runes now which is sad because there are so many good runes out there.
Now our class is stuck again with one rune set if you want speed.

The good part, this time, is that the “One Set to Rule Them All” is also decent for other stats and condition duration overall. You’re not _as_shafted, using those boys. Now, if Anet’d get around to fixing the 6/6 on Speed, that’d supply an option for your tankier-built Mesmers.

I feel quite lucky to have had 5 traveler runes on my magic find set (which is now an equally unused rabid set).
Since the change, I’ve replaced the centaur runes on my main/hybrid/wvw set and have been quite comfortable. Not having to use a heal for swiftness is the biggest benefit, but you do sort of notice the -8% movement speed.
Oh, and there’s that little bit about not being able to grant swiftness to everyone around you, too…

Wow, I completely forgot that I had a MF set with Travelers ruins until reading the above post. It’s been banked for ages because I only do WvW. Thank you Aneirin for the reminder!

Lucky. I still gotta grind, if I want those boys. Or hope ANet puts a fix on the Speed Runes.

Traveler runes are the best. Except in builds that call for perplex runes.
I love the traveler runes. I went from air to traveler so it was a no brainer. I gained more stats (besides crit dmg), boon/condi duration, and the perma speed. They’re so good, I almost bought them for my necro so I wouldn’t have to keep swapping in my locust signet.
I’ve gotten these babies for my necro when they first came out, I haven’t looked back. It freed up a utility slot for her so that’s awesome.
I was hesitant to buy them on my mesmer, however I’ve caved in to get em. I lost 135 power or somewhere close to that, but the speed bonus is simply worth it. The straw that broke the camels back, was when I was chasing a necro around. He was MM specced and could simply run around in circles while spamming me with condis. That was when I decided it was time to upgrade, in spite of me having lower power
Curse you Dietzen, now I want them on my necro too, hahaha.
Have them on both my mesmer and necro.

I thought about it, but then I found a build that allows me to have high boon duration and a traited focus. So, still stuck with the focus, but it’s a weapon I actually like.

hahaha good to know I did something, I’m not quite sure if it’s good or bad :P
I am working on a Hybrid build that employs Celestial Armor + Traveller runes and TBH I love the traveller runes. They can replace almost all rune sets most builds use(Exceptions here and there of course) and see a minimal drop in effectiveness.
