What stats and sigils would you recommend for underwater weapons?

I’m planning on crafting an ascended staff and spear (I guess I have nothing better to do :P) and don’t want crafter’s remorse. This would be for general PvE and high level (48+) fractals – well, the one jellyfish fractal to be specific.

My natural inclination would be to go for Beserker’s or Rampager’s, but I’m wondering if I should go for a toughness spec to avoid getting one-shotted by krait in the underwater fractal.

What do people think?

Many thanks

I would simply go full zerker, since the jelly itself won’t oneshot you if it devours you. Just get some battle sigils for inspiration. It’s the best in general. Or energy – energy is cool too

Full zerker, as Xyonon said, the toughness on the weapon will not help.

Since you are likely only sticking to your trident the entire time (or spear if your group is melee’ing) on the Jellyfish fight, you are getting no use out of a battle sigil. Force or accuracy would be fine. If you are confident you will not die on the trash, then perception/bloodlust would be great too…though I find bloodlust to be too expensive for an underwater weapon.

Also, a superior sigil of air could be fun on an underwater weapon.

Thanks for the advice!

Defo agree on beserker for the spear… but would it be worth getting some condition dmg on trident for bleeds and confuse? Or should I just stick to zerk smashy smashy?
