Can someone fill me in on the current status of untraited iWardens? I’m finally coming back to my beloved mesmer but I can’t find any current info on whether untraited iWardens still block unblockable projectiles. I’ve seen it mentioned in a number of places that iWarden was fixed, but I’m not sure if it was fixed to prevent it from blocking unblockable projectiles or it was fixed in some other way.

If they do still block unblockable projectiles, do they do so consistently i.e. do they always block unblockable projectiles or are there some unblockable projectiles that they can’t block?

Finally, is Chaos Archangel’s list, in Lyssa’s Grimoire, of where and when to reflect still accurate? That’s an awesome resource, as is the How to Mesmer in Dungeons, so many thanks to the people who put those together

When the iWarden does his spinning attack, he does block projectiles.

All the forum messages about the “fixing” the iWarden were in relation to ANet “fixing” the Warden when it really wasn’t broken at release.

Initially, iWarden would not move from its spawn location. ANet out of the blue “fixed” the iWarden so that after it spins, it will then pursue its target and re-attack. Well, the new code was just terrible, sometimes the warden wouldn’t do anything at all. Then it wouldn’t attack inanimate targets(like gates, or turrets) , or it pursue its target and then stops before its in range, start its attack. But it never was really close enough to hit its target. So it stop and try again, etc., etc. It was a mess.

Several patch notes would simply say “Fixed Warden”, but something else was broken. And you know how often ANet patches things, so this went on for quite some time.

Its better now, but it still kinds of bugs out on inanimate objects sometime and just stands there doing nothing.

To actually answer your question, op, untraited warden no longer blocks unblockable projectiles. They did “fix” this sometime in the recent past.

As far as when as where to reflect goes, there have been a couple changes. Basically, Anet has been making a rather unfortunate habit of turning previously reflectable projectiles into unblockable ones. The only one I know off of the top of my head is that projectiles from spiders such as malroana can no longer be reflected.
