[VIDEO] Draxx: Mesmerized 03 (Roaming PvP)
What rune did you go with?
Grenth, for the extra condi-damage and the chill-effect on my heal
On the GS-spec I used Traveller
I’ll add it to the video, thanks for the question

I stopped watching after the second moa in the second 1v1…
Thats ok, I switch to the “Your life is a lie” elite-skill at the 5 minute mark ;-)
Thanks for constructive feedback
I’ll try to be constructive, because I like watching good vids and I’d like to see more. First I can second what the above person said: I didn’t make it through the video, but not just because of the use of moa. I think moa getting used in a 1v1 just isn’t fun to watch, and really it’s like if you can’t win a 1v1 using moa you must be just abjectly terrible, so just go ahead and don’t bother filming it. That’s not coming from a “you suck if you use moa” perspective; if you have fun when you do it and find it funny, which it is, then go ahead and use it, just don’t expect people to enjoy watching footage of it.
I personally stopped watching at the mesmer fight after the eotm sequence. It was like watching you squash bugs that were trying to run away from you, just sad. Same thing with that necro at about 4 min in. You filmed 1v1 vs such poor players, I mean they were just so bad, that instead of looking awesome it made you look bad too. That’s the problem when you film 1v1’s against people who are really bad, especially if it takes you a long time to kill them. The whole thing is just pathetic to watch. Like you were in a fist fight with someone half your size, but took forever to beat him. If you just knocked him out real fast, ok that may be funny, but taking forever just makes me feel sorry for him and you look weak. Get what I mean?
That’s part of the problem with a condi vid. If you are going to put ganks in, you need to blow them up super fast like in a shatter vid, or somehow kill them very fast. Watching you slowly chase down someone who is just trying to run away, and on top of it moa them, well again it just looks sad.
The hardcore fast paced music layered over all of this just adds to the sense of sort of revulsion (that’s too strong a word, but it kinda fits). Then add on top of that all the little words and comments and it just looks like you are bragging about beating up children as a 25 year old, who himself thinks these are good fights.
I liked the guys running off cliffs in eotm, but take out all the sounds and silly music. The guy just ran off a cliff, you don’t need to emphasize how funny it is, in fact unless you are really good at it you’re only going to make it less funny.
I think with a condi build you have to use really challenging fights in your videos, or it’s just boring to watch. You should show more fights where you had to do some clutch stuff to win, or show more 1v2’s etc. In a shatter vid, it’s always fun to watch 1v1’s because in any shatter fight the mesmer either comes super close to dying and has to do clutch stuff to survive before they obliterate their opponent in a an insane burst, or they just obliterate their opponent in a an insane burst. Either way fun to watch.
Anyways, I should probably get back to work. Clearly you have the time to make creative vids. I hope you keep trying and have more success in the future. I’ll def. check out your next one.
-snip-
I’ll just let you save me the hard work of typing that up quite eloquently and say that I agree wholeheartedly. Also, using grenth runes with signet of the ether is an abysmal choice.
MSFone, I really appreciate the feedback, thanks for taking the time to write it. I understand that the comments in the video can seem like bragging, I will have to adjust that for next vid because I really do not want it to come off like that, but in truth they are more like cynism, because, man, getting good, ENTERTAINING, 1vs1 fights is really hard. As you can see in the vid my appearence is shifting a lot, since this has been recorded over an extended period of time. Maybe I’ve just had bad luck or something but I can’t believe how few people that actually stay and fight. I discarded countless recordings that was nearly unusable since people just flee, flee, hide, cry to their momma etc etc. It is quite frusturating. And just watching duels is boring, I want to fight people out there on the field.
If you had made it longer into the vid there are more skilled opponents after the eotm-sequence, and some more crowded situations as well as a really nice long fight against a thief.
Again, huge thanks for the feedback, will take it with me for the next one!
I really liked the fast paced, action bursts, it really epitomizes how freaking awesome conditions are in this game. Such quickly executed encounters, flawless. What more could you want from such a fluid combat system.!!!!11111!!

If we’re critiquing the overall video..
Well I suppose MSFone has one way to look at it. While I didnt find the footage particularly exciting or “cool”, and some of the fights were against people who didnt put up that good of a fight, I did watch the whole thing. Watching the build at work was dull. The Moa thing was an odd choice. Ok, granted all that. But I think MSFone’s take is over thinking it waaaay to much. You’re right about it being hard to find good footage at times, I can vouch for that. Never the less, if you do want to make more exciting video’s I suppose you can take MSFone’s comments to heart. He’s not completely off the wall.
nice video but you need to use your skills at the right moment
like mirror images – you use it too early while the enemy got his cleanse rdy to use
save it when the enemy below 50% hp and kite till then
most of the fight you basically kite them and not bursting them with torment like you should have done
if you were fight a warrior you would have noticed it but as you saw it at your last fight against the s/d thief (the veteran tree did nice dmg on him and you finished him with ic #2)
Well, although I agree with what MSfone wrote I have to say that I liked the intro, the effects you added, the post processing. I cannot say anything about music because I do not have sound at work.
Regarding the gameplay I think you recorded too many fights vs uplevel players.
Last fight with the thief was nice. To be fair yes, the veteran tree did damage him in the end but it was a bit of a pain for Draxx too having the npc around, since he received some damage along the fight and got even rooted.

Thanks man But to be fair, I dont fight any upscaled people other than one quick fatality when the zerg tried to gank me, and in the bonus-clip in the end, which is just for fun anyway.
Yeah I really enjoyed the thief fight. Fights where you have to take extra factors like npcs or special terrain into consideration are extra fun because you have to adapt and use lots of mobility.

Lol moa 1v1…
then i really like ur “Intro” nothing to say about it
but yeah like MSFone said i think u should train again your 1v1 i understand with GS its more difficult against a good thief or a good cac but shatter vid its really nice and fun to play
i played "Blackwater when i started play my mesmer..because its easy and with no honor ^^ but it was just so bored T_T ! even in condition build sometime u feel to slow i mean u should switch use ur skill more often Use ur staff alot in condition build because auto attack is just so strong lol !
then i really like that intro haha good job
Tsuki Yomi <
The good : music, editing, character look i love :o
The bad : no use of diversion, random dodges, bad use of scepter 2, bad use of torch’s prestige (offensive), bad openings in quiet some fight, inexistant combos and lack of comrehension of the fight.
Hi Draxx,
Couple of things I would like to add to what others said:
1.Chaos storm should never be used “just like that”,meaning, placing chaos storm should be when you can hold ppl inside or placing it on yourself for inc melee attack. In your video,I’ve seen so many times that you placing a chaos storm on far away players that got two steps out of it.
2.Using blink for no reasons.
3.I dont think mirror image is worth using, apart for stun break-fast distortion.
p.s
The fight in the end against the thief was the only one worth putting imo,the thief really did well dealing with your conditions.
