Viable Sword / Sword build?
Look at the sticky thread for the shatter cat, Osicat runs nothing but sword sword, and staff as a back up
ya, I saw that one, but I’m really not a fan of staff, and most of those builds are PvP. This is for a PvE focus. I’d like to use focus to make use of reflections.
any more constructive criticism out there?
There is a trait that causes all mantras to heal when first chanted. You want to look into that. I can’t speak for the offhand sword but I can say that the mainhand one and the focus slowly grew on me. Staggering feedback and iWarden can guarantee a lot of reflections, especially against npc mobs. it also stacks a lot of bleeds when you are traited with sharper images. Some creatures never move and if you can get 3 of them out, you’ll easily get 25 stacks of bleed going. They are vulnerable to melee attacks though and they very rarely move so you need to be weary of that.
Temporal Curtain is our only way of getting swiftness without the use of runes. Given that it is also a pull if you activate it again, it can have some interesting uses. Just don’t expect much out of it in dungeons. Just about everything you want to pull will have some form of stability.
I’ve been running this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgAQNAscBlwzipJVDtmExsAUFwOyMUtUr0Dcj3uQA
Glass cannon melee mesmers are incredibly viable in dungeons. I used to run a more phantasm focused build, but the changes to auto attack make the +%DMG traits much more worthwhile. Ran Arah P4 last weekend and the build performed incredibly.

which armor set / trinkets do you run with this build?
How do you feel surviving is with nothing into health or toughness? I assume you are riding the dodge button and have blink on almost constant stand by, right?
Mesmer easily has 100% vigor uptime, so dodging is a non issue if you learn to time Blurred Frenzy. More hp isn’t necessary if you can not get hit (easily done on Mesmer).
@ Kandolo: I personally wouldn’t take Wastrel’s Punishment. I’d take those 5 points and the 5 in Chaos to Illusions for Compounding Illusions instead.

@roachsrealm: Jugding from your taits I asume you want to play with phantasms (If not please correct me). The “typical” phantasm build is 10/15/0/25/5 (with 15 remaining trait points, I put them in Illusion for Phantasmal Haste) with mostly berserker gear (bleeds from Sharper Images is just a bonus).
I used this build quite a while but now I switched to a mantra build from Fay (look it up in the sticky where all the builds are linked, I use Hecate) because it offers more support for group play. But I shatter much less and focus more on phantasms.
If you don’t like these builds, you should only use 20 in Deception, the last minor trait is mostly useless (in pve) and Empowering Mantras only shines if you have 30 in domination vor 3 charges and use 4 mantras (but then it hurts).
If you want a shatter build I would use Osicats but if you don’t like staff just use something else, it will still work.
@ Kandolo: I agree with Sarcasmic
