Update: Dont judge me on playstyle, skill, combos etc etc on this video. This video is ment for fun and showing mesmers are doing fine.

I was a bit bored so I tried sPvP with no gear. Without gear they hit me twice as hard and I hit them twice as low.

I just love this class! Sure dmg and armor makes it easyer, but its not all about it!

Who are you trying to fool? Armor does almost nothing for damage, and you’re still wearing the accessory.. which is the vast majority of your stats. Grats on the glass cannon.

Example:
2200 for blurried frenzy without the gear (scholar) or 4k with the scholar.
Thief steal hits me with armor for 4k without armor 8k.

also Celeras is right, you’re not doing twice as less damage and receiving twice as much and thinking you are is just silly

Chaos storm does dmg to the foe, in it it gives 3 secs boons, chaos armour, also does dmg when they attack (confusion) blind etc, and boons for 3 sec.. Chaos storm still up? Use a phase retreat to get chaos armour again..

If you count, when I use chaos armour in the beginning of the clip.. you count 7 seconds of chaos armour.. instead of only 3/5 seconds

Youtu.be ‘s been around since late 2009/2010, if you click the share button on a video, that’s they type of url it gives you.

I always thought it stupid because the youtube URLs are not that long in the first place and the longest part, the code for the file itself, remains the same.

The people munching you on using CArmor before Retreat while you’re still in CStorm are right on that point.
Retreat is a leap combo finisher—using it while still in CStorm will grant you a free CArmor without having to hit 4 yet. >_>

Yes, Chaos armor and then using retreat in a chaos storm is useless.. It gives maybe 1 or 2 seconds extra..

But without armor, it gives maybe those 2 seconds of advantage. But it was more for having the extra clone for shatter after I blurried frenzy you see that I swap weapon right after I use retreat. Like I said playstyle isnt the same as with gear on xD Act fast! ^^

Mesmers work well in PvP, PvE is a very different matter.

Nobody thinks Mesmers are bad in PvP.

you realise gear has 0 effect on damage other than runes right? and you’re wearing the highest dps amulet in the game.

your scholar runes increase your damage by nearly %100? …lol cmon dude

scholar rune increases your damage when you’re above %90 hp, how often were you above %90 in those duels? good for hitting target dummys and thats about it.

Yes your right, gear is only for the defense, the runes you put on it (scholar) is for the damage, I thought most ppl would understand that, sorry for not being clear about that.

And yes, its not 2200 (( that was an estimated number, so I made a video vs the guardian to show some exact numbers:

Heavy Dummy:
With gear (Scholar) Blurried frenzy: 4488
Without gear (scholar) Blurried frenzy: 2664

Guardian:
Blurried Frenzy: Time: 1:31 : 2194 (without gear)
Blurried Frenzy: Time: 2:46 : 3636 (with gear)

Well without gear its hard to be at or above 90%, if you watched the video, you saw it, but then again, why do I need to be above 90% when I dont got the gear, nor the extra dmg.
