Like all my other videos, I play with pretty average skill. In one fight, I surprise the opponent and then he gets no help from two of his allies. I make lots of mistakes.

Still I hope you find it entertaining, and possibly it’s informative to see:
- ether signet helps to create a lot of pressure with quick phantasm resummons
- stacking might through interrupts, food, battle sigils, etc helps to boost damage
- arcane thievery and one generosity sigil can be a workable condi defense

I notice that your phants get dropped really easily and you are having to use e signet to get another back out. Ever consider taking signet of illusions to buff them up some? Maybe 50% HP increase isn’t enough in some situations, or maybe just not enough to bother in general. I’m still on the fence about it myself depending on build.

@curunen – yeah, scepter is interesting in a power/hybrid build. The condi’s don’t do so much, but I like the range. I need to get better at using the block (still.. after 1.5 years with this weapon set – it did help a lot with the guardian late in the second fight)

@msfone You’re right – the phantasms get crushed quickly. For sure, when I fight a mesmer using duelist or zerker, I try to kill them quickly. It’s funny how people say phantasm builds are all AI and “passive”. I find I put a lot of effort into getting the phantasms out (and hopefully distributed), so that they can get multiple attacks in. (And, I actually screwed up and cast the duelist out of range early in the second fight because I was trying to keep it away from the battle.) The problem for me with taking the signet is the utility slot. After all this time, I can’t live without blink and decoy. And I can’t find a way to set up the build I want without using one slot on handling condi’s.

The plus side is that you can create really nice burst if you have ether signet. Right at the end, I cast zerker as I jump off the cliff. Then I swap, interrupt the might stacking with magic bullet, cast duelist, use ether signet, cast duelist again, and can still swap back for one more zerker to finish it off – all in about 12 – 15 seconds.

Ya that is the choice I always make too with the signet: give up decoy or give up blink. I can play without decoy better than without blink, but stealth is so stupidly OP in this game I really feel kinda kitten without it. I go back and forth. I noticed (in spvp) that even with signet a warrior can cleave my phants like no problem, but have other times noticed their beefiness with the signet too.

I also agree that it’s all about positioning them; that is the best way to keep them up.
