I started running it again a couple days ago in team/solo que TPvP and been having a lot of success with it, even though its almost completely useless against classes like thieves. But, now I’ve tried everything I could think of rune/sigil/utility/wep wise, and was wanting to know other people have came up with.
So far I’m using…
6/6/0/2/0, grabbing halting strike, power block, triple mantra, menders purity, clone on dodge, phantasmal fury, boon strip on shatter,
S/P – GS – The most interrupts possible from weapons, good ranged and melee, and power based abilities.
Zerker, with scholar runes or mesmer runes, scholar is nice when you can sit back with gs and hammer interrupts on the focus target while others beat on him in melee, pretty useless in melee or 1v1 situations.
mantra heal with 3 casts and 2 condition cleanse each time. All the condition cleanse you will really need on top of a great heal.
Daze mantra / stun sig / decoy – 4 interrupts, I run the sig because the 3 second stun is the only thing that is going to let you kill good thieves, using it to set up a massive chain stun. Decoy obviously for our stun break and “Get out of Dodge” ability, I’ve tried blink, its nice as it can be used offensively as well, but sometimes the best place to port isn’t always visible and you lose time trying to get it or choose to port someone were you will be picked up immediately.
GS – Air/Battle S/P – Force/battle, I think air is really great on GS because of the auto attack, not so good on sword… I think the 5% extra damage ends up doing more in most cases. battle runes I like because its close I think to 5% extra damage and it lingers for 20 seconds enough to keep 6 stacks up forever, which translates into 10% extra damage after the 2nd swap? ( I could be wrong).
Timewarp – since you will be going mid 99% of the time with this build, the 10 seconds of haste for the people there is huge for winning that 1st fight.
Playstyle/Role – Obviously you aren’t doing any kind of 1v1 or bunkering, I think this is one of the best zerker setups to run with the group that fights on/for objectives in a lot of strats. Don’t ever be the 1st person to run into a fight, always stay back with GS until some of the beef shows up, against a good group they will always target you the second they see you knowing you are squish, so be sure to only go in balls deep if you know you can get away with it. You need to constantly watch for stability and certain buffs like warrior invuln, whether it be on their buff bar or from animation ques. Even deeper you need to know at least all the meta specs for every class and what abilities you really need to shutdown, when they are going to use them, and what the animation looks like. You should be the one calling targets always, the person you are on is going to have their active heals and mitigation (hopefully) put on 10 sec cooldowns meaning focus fire against that target is going to be really effective. This also means you need to be able to pick out the best/easiest target out of 2/3 people when you start fighting. No one on the other team should ever get a res off if you are up.
I’m wondering what other powerblock mes is running for everything from runes/sigils to play style etc… I know there is a lot I could be doing better specifically boon removal for stability beyond shatters, but I’m not sure what I can give up. And of course what sigil/rune are going to give the best results for this type of build.
