Was mesmer ever improved? (pve)
That has not changed. There is a new healing signet that refreshes all phantasm cooldowns but we mostly use the active to quickly get phantasms out rather than to switch targets usually. The mantras have aoe effects now and the GS3 is larger thats about it for our aoe (along with shatters).
Since release: weaker timewarp but less cd on it, aoe mantras, some gs improvement, overall still lowest tier in pve, yet still better than Necro <3

Well, actually there are dungeons where mesmers can be very helpfull. Portal, invisibility (if there is no thief around) and the possibility of 24/7 reflects make some dungeon content very easy But other than that… yeah… mesmer isn’t made for PvE.
Chronomancy works, I am proof of it. Now stop asking me questions. Time must be preserved!
1. You don’t need phantasms to do damage, they just supplement your damage.
2. You can get phantasm recharge rates down to 12 seconds using traits.

This is being disingenuous. Mesmer personal damage is absolutely trash, and it’s trash because we have phantasms that also do damage. In order to do the damage of another dps class, we need to be both attacking and have at least 2 dps phantasms up and attacking.
Meaning, you are fighting 3 guys, you summon you’re phantasms, kill 1, and now you are just stuck standing there for 30 seconds waiting on cooldowns until you can attack the second guy and then repeat for the third.
Fay, I’m responding to what is either a gross misconception or mischaracterization. No mesmer stands in place waiting for 30 seconds or whatever the cooldown is just because their phantasms have despawned.

Apart from that just a bunch of nerfs to appease pvp players.
