What Ascended armor are you going to craft for HoT?
With the prices of materials I am not willing to do more then one….

Rabid and Berserker.

Probably going to start working on a condi based one now, I already have my Zerk. Maybe Rabid…dunno yet.

already has zerk set, will decide on a condi set once all the new changes are in.

Having too set is probably the most ideal situation if your main is a Mesmer, imo…

I’m not. Ascended armor can shove it, I’ll do fine without.

I already have a PVT set for WvW and Zerker weapons. I’ll probably be focused on hoarding any crafting supplies until at least HoT is released and I see how the Chronomancer builds emerge. I’m still torn between Power and Condition damage.

In short:
If power chronomancers are powerful and fun: none, I’ll stick with what I’ve got.
If condition chronomancers are superior: maybe Rabid

EDIT: To chime in on the whole “ascended grind” thing… I actually like it. I enjoy having a craftable set of armor that takes some time and investment- more investment than 2g on the auction house and less investment than a legendary. It was a fun process for me getting mine, though I’d appreciate better ways to get Silk.

What would make me cranky? A tier above Ascended that isn’t Legendary.
What would make me happy? Ascending my ascended to Legendary. Same stats, but ability to switch sigils and stats.

I might make one Dire set.

Trouble is rune choices – I have like 4 duplicate condition sets with different runes (nightmare, tormenting, traveler, antitoxin) depending on what build I’m running, but I’m certainly not making 4 copies of the same ascended armour! :o

I wish we could store/swap runes on ascended armour, and sigils on ascended weapons. Maybe a limited number, or have them upgradeable for more storage slots through different currency.

At least for zerker I’ll probably be running only one rune set (melandru) thanks to the movment speed bonus once we get Chrono.

I will buy rare gear.

I already have a full set of zerk. This is the correct choice. I do not need another.

I may end up crafting a second zerk set so I can have one with Traveler runes for non-Chrono build and one with better DPS/utility runes for Chrono builds.

Probably rabid myself.

You cannot salvage runes from ascended, so non for me. I already have an lee with full ascended with strength runes, I will make no more ascended armour.

If it drops and its zerk, sure. If it’s anything else…no, perplexity and hoelbrak are already silly expensive.

Sinister without a doubt. No way I’d take rabid over it

Probably a mix of Sinister and Rabid, possibly with a bit of Rampagers mixed in if I need to up my crit chance.
