Hey all,

I’ve recently decided to spend a little more time on my mesmer in PvE, just for a change of pace, and have settled on S/S, as I found I enjoyed that more than the standard S/P builds.

I am running pretty much a full set of Knight’s gear, but I have some Pow/Tough/Vit pieces worked in. I have a fairly high crit (about 50%) but I was trying to figure out what Sigils I want to use on my 2 swords.

I was thinking of on-crit effects, since I have high crit… but can I have two of these at once? Or will only one effect occur?

Anyway, since I’m trying to keep my cost down, Sigil of Strength is out… it’s over 6g and I’m not gonna do that for the time being lol.

I was thinking of Sigil of Purity for Condition removal (since I don’t have a large amount of it or anything), but the Life Stealing crit proc (forgot the sigil name) seemed decent too. Sigil of Air was something a friend said would be decent as well.

Anyway… does anyone have any good suggestions for what a high crit / pow build should do for some Sigils on their 2 swords?

You can use the same Sigil that you have on your Pistol for your OH Sword.

I am mostly Staff + Sword/Pistol or Focus

Staff – Sigil of Energy (You gain 50% of your endurance when you swap to this weapon while in combat – 9 sec CD.)

Sword (mainhand) – Sigil of Force (5% damage)
Pistol – Sigil of Fire (30% chance to cause flame blast on critical hit causing AoE damage. 5 sec CD)

I plan to get a 2nd Sword, the Ghastly Sword from AC that only glows at night and use Sigil of Night on it for the 10% damage.

Go MAJOR sigil of fire. You’ll proc is many time enough if you have over 50 crit chance. If you have 2, they won’t stack, but the % will go a little higher (go look on the wiki for the equation).

For other, go Crit Chance or Damage sigil.

Why Major and not Superior?

Major Sigil of Fire is super cheap in comparison. Only about 3 silvers? Like Krispera said with good crit chance it still procs quite often, and I’ve heard somewhere the damage coefficient from the blast is equal on all the sigils of fire so you won’t lose damage either.

If you are damage hungry and you know you are going to stick to specific areas in pve, it’s also nice to carry a few race-specific sigils around. You can slap on two sigils of undead slaying in orr for example. 20% damage boost right there against most enemies you’ll find in the area. There’s one for every race, and even the superior ones are cheap so you can always run around swapping. This would be better if you had some crit damage though.
