When I say serious, I mean players in organized, team-oriented guilds which consistently play in groups of 15-25. Thanks in advance.

Im not currently in an organised group, but as far as i can tell from videos… Shatter builds will do judt fine, maybe put the 20 flexible points in inspiration for glamour traits. Portal is huge for organised groups, but only supports 10 players in and out due to the limit t has now. Aim enemy L Armor with some flanking tactic.

Utilities for Zerg fight:
Arcana Thievery (Weaken enemy Guardian aka steal their prot)
Or
Feedback (Protect Ally H Armor users from Enemy Projectile)

Decoy (Break away from enemy “Train Wave”)
Blink (Same with Decoy)

Well i;m not a big fan of zerg fight since my PC is not that good. Normally i “Freeze” if i stay too long on center of the fight. Not to mention all i do on Zerg fight just Tab – GS#2 – GS#4 – GS#1 or press tab again until i get dying enemies ~__~

A lot of mesmers have switched to group-oriented phantasm builds, for example using GS & S/F, picking up the reflect projectiles trait for the focus (something like 20[III,X]/20[II,X]/0/25[IV,VIII]/5). The skills will probably be the same as above.

I have been running with this build (i only have glamour utilities cooldown reduction Inspiration trait, instead of condition removal from heal) for few months. I always run with my friend (necro), he tanks all the guards in camp/tower and deals dmg to them with wells and marks, while i aoe them all with my iWanderer+iBerserker combo (sometimes i add a Feedback to reflect scouts arrows if iWanderer spawns not in the right place).
Sometimes when we get fights 2v2 or 2v3, enemies dont expect all the aoe dmg we can deal. Not to mention fights against rangers, they kill themselves from all the projectile reflection (focus 4, iWanderer and Feedback).

Thanks for the responses so far. Now, let me ask this:

Power or Conditions, and why? I know that Confusion was nerfed and it’s something I’ve been struggling with when designing builds for my guild.

Again, I’m looking for input on builds for groups ranging from 15 to Zerg.

Power. The problem with the new confusion nerf is that you need to bump at maximum the condition damage to have a decent damage with confusion. So this lets you to 2 options, carrion or rabid. With these possibilities you will be a little bit squishy in WvW, since you’ll be upgrading 2 offensive stats.

With power, you don’t need to have as much as you can, and you can invest stats to be more defensive.

I run “hidden fire” build. Works great. Emphasis on invisibility, burning, and I’ve started using pistol with it.

Any other Mesmers wish to chime in with their opinion of Condi vs Power?

Confusion is terrible now.

With the confusion nerf, it’s unwise to run a build focused on confusion alone. However, glamours in at least a partial confusion build are still the strongest long range aoe mesmers have.

Well I run inspiration glamour traits ( longer glamour + shorter cd). The problems with being in an organised guild is that I’m stuck as a veil/portal mesmer, with feedback taking the last slot.

I get really tired of being a glamour bot sometimes, so when I don’t wanna be one, i play my thief.

I was a glamour mesmer for a few months early this year, and after coming back after a 4 month break a few days back i picked up a berserker phantasm build. I think im going to try and figure out a build that is primarily phantasm with some glamour aspects to try out in WvW.

Wondering how well sw/p, s/f or sw/f with a 10/30/0/25/5 will work. In a 1v1 i would drop the warden first, switch to pistol while creating a feedback bubble, use pistol 5 to stun to keep them somewhat in the warden range, then use the duelist.

I have yet to test it out, but the duelist should do around 6k with crits and the warden should get up to at least 4k, and they should end up with around 10-15 stacks of bleeds and 10+ stacks of confusion in only a few seconds time.

What do you guys think about something like that? I’ll test it with full zerker gear, but i do have some exotic rabid gear left over from my glamour build i could mix and match in with the berserker to increase the bleeds/confusion damage, (im assuming that with the confusion nerf the rabid gear won’t beat out the berserker gear in a build like this, although veggie pizzas with their condition duration could be an interesting substitute)

edit: after testing it on random creatures in WvW the feedback bubble lasts long enough for you to get through the chain mentioned above, as well as use sword 3 twice to immobilize the target, giving you chaos armor.

iWarden->Feedbackbubble->pistol 5->P4->Sword 3×2-> Sword 2

Just need to test it out in a solo WvW battle to see how it works but i think its actually going to work quite well

I’m never doing zergfights, but i would be using GS for it. Even iBerserker is good for 1 attack and won’t miss when put in the middle of the enemy zerg even in it’s currently bugged state.

Second weapon set would most likely being sword + focus. Blurred Frenzy is actually quite good but you should keep Blink or F4 ready for retreating after you become vulnerable again ^^

I suggest you take a look at Osicat’s support shatter cat build.

I’ve been running a hybrid Phantasm build with some shatters and damage/support. I’m more for power than condition.
