My issue is that it was a double nerf. The swap from Invuln → Evade, and the increase in C/D. Either would have been a “nerf,” so why rub salt in a wound?

Ah, see this post was all kinds of confusing.
First of all, “BF” wasn’t obvious, even in context.
Second, yeah… it looked kind of like a new change had come or something.
A damage buff would be nice.
I can see how it might have been needed in sPvP (I don’t play that, so I might be wrong, but I can see the problem with an unstoppable burst attack)
However, for PvE this wasn’t warranted AT ALL! and gets very annoying. Not many enemies have retal (which seems to be a problem in its own right for group PvP), but the inconsistency of what can and what can’t hit you has lead to quite a few stupid deaths. Especially since there’s no logic behind the mechanics, so you’re left with trial-and-error (as an example, the fire AoE conjured by Ulgoth neither damages nor burns during evades, while the static field of the MKII golem deals damage and cripples right through it; both are pulsing AoE fields)
On the bright side, getting Daily Dodger has never been easier!
The change was necessary. As much as I loved the skill the way it was, being able to attack and dodge at the same time was too powerful. Even after the nerf, I still use this attack as a third “dodge”. Now that it’s not complete immunity, you have to rethink when to use it and against whom. More thinking is ALWAYS a good thing! That keeps the game from becoming a mindless button-masher.
What wasn’t warranted, however, was increasing the recharge time along with nerfing the “invulnerability frames”. Anet should have waited at least a month after the live patch to see if it was necessary. This is Anet we’re talking about though. They make a LOT of stupid changes with little to no explanation. and overnerf things quite often. The fact that they claim to listen to their community is laughable. They don’t even discuss major changes with us before they happen.

There is nothing special in that type skill. Almost all weapon sets have them.
I am finding it highly annoying, i can never tell if when i will use it the attacks will be evaded or if i will actually get hit by them. I am even now considering maybe swapping it out and changing my build, i like the fact that the clones run to the targets to melee and i like the gap closer but BF is becoming to much of a liability as you (or at least i) just never know if when using it i will be damaged or not.

Anything that triggers an “on hit” effect will be a liability. A few examples are Shock Aura, Chaos Armor or anyone with retaliation. As for environmental hazards, the jury is still out. I’ve successfully evaded some while others have hurt me anyway. In my opinion, the skill is still good, it’s just not great.
i agree that the change in spvp was maybeok, but thats why i think they should split wvw and spvp again as in wvw there is a ton of retal and therefor i wish the nerf was reverted in wvw. anet has a lot of balancing to do. none of the gammodes is blanaced right atm. and i hope they stop balancing wvw on spvp and also in spvp there need to be changes with the current meta and with a meta like that i think the br nerf was too much.

in my mindless ~tier1~ server with a feedback on a group retal kittens on you. I used BF to stop that damage instead of wasting distortion. I think it need some more work, but recently our changes have been lacking
