Sure, there are tons of issues with Mesmer balance. Many many issues… but it has always been a class worth playing. There’s a certain amount of uniqueness that it brings. Style you might even say! For the majority of players, there is definitely something great you can bring to your team as a Mesmer.

Reasons to play Mesmer:

• Boonsharing
• Boon ripping
• +1ing fights aka mobility via teleports
• Tanking
• Alacrity
• The ability to severely punish bad players/moves
• Most importantly, butterflies

Don’t be silly. Years ago when going over this very topic Anet uttered the words “Purple” and “Cheese”. The theme has stuck pretty well ever since.

Balance changes have been added. Mesmer is not viable anymore and there is a definite pattern with Anet and mesmer. Time to re-roll.
