What is the quickness rotation now?
1 Chrono… Maybe worth it if SoI hits 5 other people still. Going to be domination, inspiration, chrono. Get 3 shield phantasms up and spam wells for high alacrity uptime on the group. Really try to hit 10 people with your shield 5. Don’t worry about overcapping quickness but make sure to move around a lot to split the quickness among your 10 people. Standing still makes it more likely for only 5 ppl to get overbuffed.
1 chrono with no boon duration… don’t bother. At least have them be 1 of 2 chronos and minimum 20% boon duration food.
2 Chronos. Still up the air but as in the other topic, I don’t think mimic will be needed.
A lot of this is still up in the air until the meta for other classes settles in too.
Honestly, you’re best off just running like before. The only change you really need to make is to swap your chrono runes for leadership and adjust your gear to hit either 66% boon duration or 100% without a rev (the latter is more likely).
But your rotation is
Get 2-3 phantasms up
While casting Time Warp, cast Continuum Split
Tides of Time
Well of Action
Well of Recall
Sig of Insp
Blurred Frenzy (if 3 phantasms)
End CS and repeat above
@DuckDuckBoom – sorry I should have specified more. For 0% boon duration I should’ve asked what a reasonable uptime for quickness is, don’t know why I didn’t just say that……
Just like before would work, Fay/Xyonon were at least talking about a rotation that didn’t involve wells in the other thread though. I don’t know if it pans out or not however

Do you have an estimate of how much a single mesmer could buff 7 to 8 people? I mean what would be the uptime of quickness and alacrity (which should depend on the build if I get it well).
In fact running 2 chronos in group of 5 is actually limiting the virtual DPS of the chrono itself to five people and depending on the uptime of buffs it could maybe more beneficial for the raid to only have one. Of course this is for 7-2-1 comp like (or 8-1-1) or could be applied to 10 man group (maybe???).
Heya,
The rotations heavily depend on your build. There are currently 3 setups who are considered optimal in their specific situations:
Domination, Illusions, Chronomancer
This one is for max personal dps, but forces you to use Mimic. You then won’t apply much Alacrity due to the lack of Well of Recall it’s only good for bursty situations like KC, where you also might want to mimic SoI for a widely spread Quickness application.
Domination, Inspiration, Chronomancer
This one has a lot more Alacrity and only slightly less dps. It makes sense to go for this build if you want to share Invulnerability for fights like Vale Guardian. You are free to swap Well of Recall for any other utility skill, but then make sure you have +1 iAvenger up all the time.
Illusions, Inspiration, Chronomancer
This one has the most Alacrity due to faster attacking iAvengers and is about the same DpS as the one above. It makes sense to go for this build if you want to maximize Alacrity for your allies, especially great if many Eles are present. You are free to swap Well of Recall for any other utility skill, but then make sure you have +1 iAvenger up all the time.
The team dps rises significantly if the following professions have a high Alacrity uptime:
- Druid (Condi and Heal)
- Ranger (Condi)
- Tempest
- Warrior (Condi and Zerk)
- Engi (Condi)
- Guard (Scepter)

Thanks Xyonon, this is really helpful.
One more question that I have, based on the Reddit discussion in this thread
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/58jv0l/raidschronomancer_a_test_on_the_new_quickness/
TW only overrrides quickness stacks with less duration than what TW puts out. Which is a really good change honestly. Due to the long duration of TW, can/should it be used to cover some gaps in your rotation to give the chrono some reprieve (ie room for error)?
As I’ve mentioned on this post aswell – TW is no longer mandatory. If everyone’s positioning is fine and you can make use of some CC, then just use Gravity. If you can’t make use of CC or the fight may cause some distortion, then go for TW.
I would go with those (can change anytime soon):
- VG: Gravity if you ignore green fields, otherwise Gravity for melee and TW for ranged Chrono.
- Gorse: Gravity.
- Sabetha: TW – you won’t be needing any CC at all and for those who do Cannons, some extra (and wide) Quickness is handy.
- Sloth: I’ll probably stick to Gravity. Arguably TW due to tremour, fixated, poison and shrooms may make it difficult to get all the WoAs and ToTs.
- Trio: TW, wide area, no CC needed but for Berg but he only has an 1k defiance bar with bees anyway.
- Matthias: If you have enough CC, Thief, Druid with Wolf, Power Zerker, I’d stick with TW due to the immense running around in this fight. Gravity could only be used for some of the Sacrifices anyway.
- Escort: Gravity.
- KC: Gravity for CC, but I’m thinking about taking TW, so you can just drop kitten burst phase and use double Frostbow #4 with maybe even Mantra of Pain for max burst. Just a thought right now, nothing tested.
- Xera: Probably Gravity. Altough TW wouldn’t be wasted either here though.
