What next for mesmers?
Given how our core resource and mechanic of clone generation and shattering was utterly gutted with the “illusions fail to spawn when blocked, dodged, or blinded” patch…
1 – confusion, bleeding, and poison will also cause illusions to fail to spawn.
2 – any abilities, but especially defensive ones, NOT tied to a clone or phantasm now requires one to function, unless that ability itself spawns a clone, in which case it is now subject to “50% fumble” at all times.
3 – portal: this cooldown has been removed, as it has been determined the conditions needed to ever use it given changes 1 and 2 will never be met.

- Clones will not be an identical copy of the caster but will look like chipmunks.
I don’t see how “the regular Joe (vast majority of players) could not distinguish between a mesmer and his (her) clone” would justify damage nerfs, the damage they could do was a bit overpowering and got it’s rightful nerf, it’s still a very strong class and “the regular Joe” will still QQ about not being able to find the real one (Although frankly it is a tad easy, but it’s a time waster which is invaluable in PvP), I do agree however that the fail to spawn patch was a bit stupid, how does one dodge/block someone cloning themselves? Don’t you think this is a bit over the top? I mean the odds of actually failing to cast an illusion is pretty low.

*all shatter skills cooldown increased by 5 seconds
*all shatter skills can now be dodged/blocked/nullified by invulnerability when casting, which will result in all your illusions being destroyed without triggering on-death effects, and once again when the illusions actually shatter on the target
*illusionary persona now has 60 second internal coodown
*deceptive evasion: down to 50% chance to spawn clones from 100%
*all bounce attacks reduced by one and suffer diminishing damage per bounce in compliance to laws of physics; illusionary elasticity is needed to do the current number of bounces it does without before patch
*chaos storm and chaos armor cooldowns increased by 5 seconds each
*feedback now reflects friendly projectiles too
*burning removed from winds of chaos, vulnerability increased to two stacks
*blurred frenzy now has 1 second cast delay before initiating
*illusionary dualist no longer uses unload skill, instead uses normal pistol autoattack
*scepter damage increased by 10%

So far they havent hit my type of mesmer and i pray to god they never do…
If they do then Ill just power through it cause I am sure as hell never going to remap Malchors Leap/Lornar Pass/Straits of Devastation on another toon.

Mesmers are still dominating and are so easy to play strong I have decided to make a PvE/WvW one to go with the easy wins I have been getting on my spvp tpvp Mesmer.
Honestly have you no shame? We all know Memsers are still gods of pvp or have you actually never tried other classes or looked at the team make ups of tpvpers….
I felt like making the most OP class I made a Mesmer I win.

I’m tired of people who think that the only thing mesmer players care about it power. A lot of us love(d) how unique our class was. It wasn’t about being OP – it was about having so many options and so many different ways to play.
Instead of nerfing mesmer to the point that a 20 dueling / 30 illusion is the only viable build in pvp, how about making every class as fun, refreshing, and original to play as the pre nerf mesmer?

I’m tired of people trying to stay OP when there was clearly a massive balance issue with mesmers.
I think all the builds that were viable before the patch are still viable, I think you were just never good at the game and now cant do anything with a toned down class, see it in MMOs all the time eventually you will reroll to some fotm or get better at Mesmer.
Im melting face with two builds conditions and the 20/20/0/0/30 shatter build. You have no idea how good mes, please role a ele or necro it might do you some good seeing how great mesmer has it.
Look at them nerfing Deceptive Evasion in next couple of nerfs. If this Trait is nerfed not only i’m out of playing mes but probably the whole game because none of the other classes are as good/fun to play as for me. iZerker was my fav mes skill and now its broken and may be fixed in couple of years. Shatter builds is the only way to go now so if DE is nerfed **** gw2 and go back playing BF3 or something.
