What's the current Zerg build for normal Mes?
Disclaimer: This build sucks and you’ll be miserable playing it. In my professional opinion as a Mesmer expert, playing ele, necro, warrior, or guardian will be far more enjoyable.
Build:
You’ll need blink, veil, and one free utility. Often this is asked to be null field, but can be something else. You’ll want greatsword + sword/focus. Greatsword does poor damage, as does sword, but it’s the best of the bad options available. Focus does zero damage but allows you to drop a reflect wall that sometimes is a bit useful.
You’ll want domination, inspiration, and something else. None of the other options for traits are good for WvW, but it seems weird to be only using 2 traitlines so you may as well grab one. You’ll want to trait for focus reflects, glamour boosting , shatter boon strip, and mind wrack damage. The glamour trait is actually almost worthless with veil, but the other options are even worse.
You’ll want gear as glassy as possible without dying all the time. You still won’t do respectable damage, but you may as well at least try to do a bit.
For larger group play – I wouldn’t play a classic non-chronomancer mesmer unless you really only like to veil or portal. They don’t work well for larger groups unless they’re Chronomancer. Like Fay said above me, you’re best going with Ele, necro, warrior or Guardian for larger group play. I have builds for all of those in my forum signature ( http://asphyxia.tv/builds )

Haha, I have just been browsing the professions area today a bit.
I could make a warrior build that doesn’t use berserker, it would basically be everything the same as it is except instead of berserker line, I’d take “Strength” line and take “Restorative Strength”, “Great Fortitude”, “Berserker’s Power” in that line.
And as far as the front line ele build goes – you CAN make it work without Celestial, but every variation I’ve ever tried has not been close to the same results. The closest I came had no condition damage and dealt less over all damage and it was a mixture of Marauders and Nomads. It didn’t work nearly as well as the Celestial, but it was the only thing that could survive enough.

No problem, and making the full celestial for ele isn’t hard – it is just a long process since Charged Quartz Crystals are so time gated. You can essentially make one piece every 5 days if you stay on top of it. If you had the money to just blow on making it quickly, you can get the “Trick or Treat” packs and just spam open those for more charged quartz crystals. I usually get 1 every 100 packs I open. Not great, but it works if you’re impatient like me lol.

It’s worth noting that chronomancer isn’t actually all that much better. Wells have low range, small radius, poor damage, and long cooldowns. The shield wall is great for shooting through groups…except that hitting an invulnerable target makes it disappear, and any recently downed player is an invulnerable target. While chronomancer is strictly better than mesmer, it’s far from good.
