What should my next armor set be?
For my mesmer, the more important question was which rune sets should I get? So I have several zerker sets, a rabid set and a mix of tanky gear. However, with the supposed huge change to runes and the ~10% decrease in crit dmg coming next month or so, I’m holding off on any new gear until I see what the changes are.
You should be fine with those two sets for a while. Just save up your gold, tokens and badges.
Hi mate. If you interested in focus some on solo and smal team roaming I can recomend my build and setup for Hidden Cat 3.0. I use Zerker accended weps, cerker adn chavaler mix on accesorys and Knight + soldier on armour.
Dmg output is superb and sruvival is fantatsic:

Currently I have a full zerker set, and a full rabid set. What other stat combos are generally good for Mesmers?
I usually do PvE and WvW zerging, with occasional WvW roaming. I’ve run shatter, and PU condi in the past and I’m currently running shatter/lockdown. I’m thinking maybe PVT would be good for WvW zerging? I probably wouldn’t enjoy playing support builds.
Any armor or build suggestions? Please and thank you. =)
If you’re looking for Zerging gear, I recommend full knights armor+weapons with cavalier trinkets. This makes you very tough while still maintaining a good offense.
Thanks for the replies all!
@DuckDuckBOOM: Definitely a valid point and it will probably be worth waiting until next month to see what the new runes/sigils are and seeing if any new builds come out of that.
@Osicat: Actually the last two builds I ran were Shattercat Original and Condicat haha. Thanks for the link; I’ll check it out. Although personally I don’t do very much roaming, it will probably be good for Edge of the Mists where most of the battles seem unorganized and fairly small in nature.
@Pyroatheist: Awesome, thanks for the tip. I was actually considering your Zergmower build from about a month back (Mimic + Runes of Guardian). Would you still recommend it?

I generally carry three sets: Zerker, Knights, and Rabid, all with runes of the traveller (expensive, but unfortunately the best). This way I can mix and match pieces depending on my current role. Same with trinkets and weapons. Invest in inventory slots and 18-slot invisible bags.
There are some niche builds with dire and apothecary/settlers (apoth w/ melandru and lemongrass poultry is tanky as kitten) that work too, and I have a set of soldiers from the good old retaliation days, but my PVT gear mostly now just gathers dust.

Also, I’ll run a front line dire build (similar to zergmower) with my guild sometimes in order to be tanky and have glamours ready on command, but it takes practice, and doesn’t work as well in more disorganized zergs. Also, you’re kittened if you’re caught alone as your 1v1 DPS is pathetically weak.
In short, I’ve found dire to be situational at best. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a shot.
Use celestial, its got it all :P
Thanks for the info Bunda! I’ll probably give Zergmower a shot with the Rabid set I currently own.
Think I’ll probably go with Knight’s as my next armor set.

Yeah, it’ll work fine with rabid. I use dire because you don’t technically need the crit chance, but rabid will be almost the same.
PVT/Hoelbrak with Bountiful Interruption in the old Immortal build then go to the EotM and troll everyone as they take 400+damage per hit on you and your defender (iLeap Temproal Curtain and Inspiration the retal to all your phantasms).
