I was expecting condi dmg to be hit by massive nerfhammer – but it does not seems to be happening… and even in nerfed pre patch state I liked staff-crit-condi builds…. hells it was my first build back after lunch… I used it to level my first char to 80

Anyway – chronomancer included – what kind of build – equip wise – do you think will be “most universal” under these new circumstances? I am now getting slowly ready for ascended equip for my mesmer and tbh I am not sure what stats I will go for ….. and by not sure I mean I have no idea Zerker or Assassin GS-Sw/Sw? Rabid tanky staff?
Sooo many options and ascended cloth armor is expensive as kitten.

Player plays the game. MetaKitten plays the DPS meter on the golem.

I personally use a combination of Assassins armor with Zerker and some toughness trinkets and either Zerker or Assassins weapons.

I feel this is very potent and works well in WvW and Dungeons. Having no ascended armor myself, but I think I will go also Assassins stats for my ascended armor. But I will still wait for the upcoming changes to the latest patch.

Chronomancy works, I am proof of it. Now stop asking me questions. Time must be preserved!

It depends, honestly. What game mode do you play primarily? PvE/dungeons, sPvP, or WvW (either roaming or zerging, both are different)?

For PvE, use Assassin’s
For sPvP it doesn’t matter
For WvW use Berserker’s
For general, every day use, use Berserker’s

The reason Assassin’s is preferred in dungeons is because of reflects. Reflects don’t use your power stat, but they do use your precision and ferocity stats, so having extra precision over power is preferred. In WvW, you want more power so your hits do more damage, which is why Berserker’s is preferred. However, if you only want one set of armor for everything, I would use Berserker’s. The difference between Assassin’s and Berserker’s when reflecting is only noticeable if you watch out for it, and only a problem in high level speed runs. Berserker’s gear will get you through a dungeon/fractal without a problem at all. Plus, elementalists take more advantage of Berserker’s than Assassin’s, so you can swap your armor between the two of them if you wish, without having to make multiple armor sets.
