Lee Oren – Ranger
Eve Oren – Revenant
… do what?
Just curious to see what others plan on checking out first when HoT goes live since I’m planning on doing the personal story (i.e., boring route).
Feel free to list more than one if you can’t decide.
I don’t mean to be stupid but did you accidentally post this in the wrong place? And if so can you move topics or can only moderators do so?

No, I only play Mesmer/Ranger (with Mesmer being my main) so wanted to hear what my fellow mesmer friends were going to do. I don’t want to move this thread to the HoT subforum as I’m more interested in the replies from the people that visit this sub forum.

Lockdown Anguish in PvP, pretty much.
Maybe some Chrono raids if the powers that WvW allow OMFG to consolodate on one server easily (no gem cost, no third rate server, Fay :p )
Unlock as much Chrono stuff as I can presuming its done through skill points then go do Halloween stuff. Maybe try out a few more PvP builds.
In non Mesmer related activities start leveling my Revenant.

^ this. Unlocking elites is supposedly going to be a process. So I’m gonna rush the process as fast as humanly possible.
I’ll probably unlock an elite spec as fast as possible (not sure which one yet), throw together a build and then go wvw in the new borderlands.
I’m expecting that when it goes live there might be some issues hehe, so I’d rather not do personal story, pvp or any world bosses etc. where the prospect of being kicked or bugs or anything will be most strongly felt. Nothing in wvw is in any way lasting anyway so bugginess there won’t matter too much.
There’s also Halloween, which will be absorbing the most of my attention outside wvw.
Wake up probably
Do what a lot of other people on this thread are doing – unlock all the elite spec stuff for the characters I have at 80, examine any unstated changes and edit my builds accordingly, and buy the necessary gear now that I know changes won’t be coming for a while. Then I just level up elite spec destined characters for the professions I don’t yet have at that point and repeat the process.
Roll a Revenant, as i don’t have enough hero points for any of my characters (excluding Guard, but Dragonhunter is really bad) and play that while farming PvE.
So, pretty much the same stuff probably everybody will do. ^-^
Not trying to ruin the mood but the way people simplify their steps kind of makes me less motivated than excited about HoT……
We need more delicate elaboration on mesmer’s grand quest to become a chronomancer, an adventure worthy of songs. \o/
Unlock Chronomancer, however long that may take. Uncertain if it’s as easy as just clicking stuff with our existing points, or if we need to go somewhere and train (call it a Quest if you like), so to speak.
I’m going to run across the meadows at +25% speed without using traveller runes.

The journey to become a Chronomancer started a long time ago. Puring over Arcane text, journeying to the far corners of Tyria, seeking lost wisdom. After years of wandering, slaying many adversaries and helping out the ones in need, my knowledge increased so much that few secrets eluded me. Yet one remains.
I feel like i’m on the verge of understanding the ability to manipulate time in ways I have never seen before nor heard about. It feels like I already have the power, but without fully understanding the power I fail to channel it.
It’s frustrating at times, yet the journey has been long. To wait a little longer is not an issue in the grand sceme of things. Once unleashed, this new knowledge will grant me powers over the very fabric of reality.
Just a little longer…
A short while to wat…
And release the accumilated knowledge of 200+ hero points, waiting to channeled into understanding the arcane art of chronomancy.

All of my alts are basically 100% of the map on hero points and ready to go. Revenant is going to have a ton of books to read. It does feel like a bit of a buzz kill but there isn’t a better way to go about it since there isn’t a story/quest associated with learning an elite spec from what I can tell.
I’m just super hyped for the story and mastery stuff so I probably won’t PvP at all for the first few weeks. Saddly, this also means I won’t mesmer at all for a while. Sinister engi with maxed out experience boosters: FT to mass tag mobs in zerg events where stuff dies too fast for rotations. FT is still useful in both engi meta builds and CC.
Once mass zerging dies down a bit and my masteries are unlocked, I’ll play the story again on the human mesmer to get a different perspective and prep for raids.

^haha! this so much.
TBH I’ll prob go for Reaper first, then Chrono second. I can see myself playing those 2 the most like I do Necro/Mes now.
I’ll get to chrono & test builds asap. Then explore the new maps & do fractals or something.
And then pvpvpvpvp.
shattering actually treats you as an illusion, killing you as well.
o.o
I have to admit, this is the absolute worst case scenario that I’ve seen suggested, and yet it feels strangely plausible.

Wait wait wait, you’d use your shatter skills in PvE? Now we really are talking worst case scenarios :p

High five!
Anyway yeah I’m probably going to spend a lot of time exploring the pve maps and personal story first, take my time to enjoy and complete all the content, maybe have a go at the adventures, do achievements, unlock any class specific things, etc… Once that’s all done I’ll hop back into pvp and check out the new wvw borderland.
