Guild Wars 2

I am starting to look at getting ascended armor and I was wondering what would be the safest buy right now as I dont want to waste time/resources on things that I will not use. Since pvp doesn’t affect things, my options would be Rabid (for wvw as I like conditions there), berserker’s (the go to pve set), or assassin’s (according to this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjZhKTy9b2w, assassin’s is the way to go). I was just curious as to everyone’s thoughts (especially regarding that guide as I found it very persuasive, but contrary to what is posted on here). Thanks!

Berserker is always the “safe” option. It’s going to be powerful and reliable in PvE no matter what.

Brazil likes Assassin’s because you don’t need to stack Perception and can still get close to 100% crit chance on a 6/2 build. I personally have seen no one else recommend the 6/2 (variations like 6/4 and 2/4 are more common), so you always have 100 more precision than Brazil. Add in precision food + spotter + banner of discipline + fury, and you’re at close to 100% crit chance with just berserker. Switch to something like ranger runes or Perception stacking and you can get to 100% without food or spotter as well.

In situations where you can’t easily get fury + spotter + banner (solos mostly), Assassin’s is unarguably better. In other situations, I’m not convinced.

I pugs rarely and i have no issue about standing over 90% hp but still mathly side ranger runes over zerk are perfect to achieve crit cap when needed and max dmg
