Right now I have a 20/20/0/0/30 (shatter) build and I was thinking about doing a 20/20/0/30/0 Phantasm build because often times in WvW my clones won’t make it to their target to shatter and I’m looking for something a little more effective.

What traits do people typically use in the Inspiration trait line? A few of them look like they’re able to be switched out. I’m using full zerk with centaur runes and 4 celestial trinkets and I don’t really want to switch up my gear too much either. Are there any other builds I could also utilize with this gear? Thanks for the help in advance.

I think Warden’s Feedback would definitely win the popularity contest.

Persisting/Mender’s/Warden’s are the “Big Boys.” I occasionally use Shattered Conditions or Harmonious Mantras. As for your gear, I can also see a 20/20/0/0/30 or 10/30/0/0/30 Shatter spec.

If your using the Insperation line then VIII is pretty much mandatory. That would force you into using the focus also. As far as the 10 point trait goes its dealers choice. The GM traits are “meh”. 25 points is all you really need unless specifically building something to use on of the GM traits for.
However at this point you’re not a shatter build anymore. You have to ask yourself “what play style am I wanting?”. If you still want to go shatter, look at Osicat’s heavy build.

More toughness will ensure they make it to their target. No point being full glass cannon if your burst is mitigated by clones dying.

Do clones share you attributes at all besides pwr/prec for damage? I thought they all had low HP and toughness on purpose. Either way, most of the reason they aren’t making it to their target in time is from CC and I feel like they’re just too slow for WvW sometimes.

Personally I’d go remove condi on heal, faster cooldown on glamour an then longer duration of glamour, possibly experimenting with greater phantasm HP if it turns out to have a relevant difference. Not a fan of warden’s feedback for WvW, though to be honest I don’t like using focus in WvW, it’s just out of necessity for guild raids.

Also keep in mind that your build can allow you to alter your play style. So with more toughness, where you might have been reluctant to get in close and personal with your enemies before, suddenly you can tank a lot more hits up close. So not only will your clones take those couple extra hits, you can also remain right next to your target to shatter point blank more often.

Back when I ran a shatter build, I’d spend my time rolling around and casting right in the middle of the enemy zerg. Why? Because it ensured my shatters would hit, and because I could.

Just worried that my damage and killing power is already kind of lackluster compared to other classes so if I gave up anymore stats I would lose that. Mesmers are lucky to have decent survival in a zerker build because of their abilities though I’m not amazing in 1v1.
