Which ascended trinkets for chrono?
I’d think Sinister’s/Assassins.
As far as I know the only Assassin trinkets you can get are earrings, which require collector achievements from two dungeons.
For a power build, berserker will still be the best option. In the event you need more survive-ability, substituting in some knights may work but it’s still unclear if we’ll need more defense for raids at this point.
Right now in PvE, it’s kinda unclear as Hiemdal said until we got more info of raids and HoT mechanics. Besides Knight’s, there is Captain’s that has the same prefix (Power, precision, toughness) but focuses more on precision.
I still hope we can finally get all stat combos with HoT, like vita/toughness + precision + ferocity. Also lets see how true the statement “the end of zerk meta” will be :P
But for the current meta, pick as much assassins gear as you can + zerker back, amulet and rings + scholar runes. If you prefer eagle over scholar because of the 6th bonus, use zerker weapons instead of kitten ones for max dps.

Think that there is little difference will be: Chronomancer is supercharged Mesmer. With more time spells, speed and Wells. Significantly stronger. Think Assassins hybrid whit Berserker
Assassins is NOT the stat set of choice for raids come HoT.
With a ranger and spotter in a raid, you will be crit capped so BERZERKER is the stat of choice for group content.
And no, condition mesmer is not a practical build for most of PvE, including raids. Please stop misinforming people just because you can use any build in open world zerg farm.

Not every party will essentialy have a ranger. Besides, lv80 isn’t the cap for enemy mobs. You need ~110% crit chance in fotm 100 for sure to have a “true” 100% crit chance.

Because if it is accurate it might depend on how good your food is and whether or not dungeon potions get trashed or not. And if it’s accurate some of it might also depend on if you have infusions or not.

70% crit chance + 20% fury + 8% warrior banner + 7% ranger spotter = 105% crit chance. That’s pretty much what you want. With TheFrighteningFrenchFry.3275s version with berserk trinkets and zerk food, you’ll have exactly 100% for lv80 mobs. 105% crit chance is what you want for lv82-85 mobs.

You’re gonna get fury, setting you at 85% crit. To that add spotter adds another 7% crit chance, so you’re sitting at 92% chance. Warrior banner bumps you to 100% crit chance.
Since day/night sigils won’t work in raids, you’re looking at sigils of accuracy instead on your offhand, that would be 107% crit chance. You’re better up picking the extra power from berzerker to not overcap and waste stats.

Are we talking about raids? Because I’m pretty sure every party will have a Druid for raids.

It has never been a really good sigil. The only chance I beleve has been made is that it no longer can crit. But that’d be a veeeery old change.
Both Air and Fire received a reduction in their weapon scaling coefficients in July. It was something around a 25-33% damage reduction.
It was a stealth nerf, also (didn’t show up in the patch notes).

I thought air used to be the go to for day time dungeons but now that they got nerfed IDK how good it is now. Totally forgot about the air nerf.

You’re forgetting youcould trait for +30% crit against slowed enemies in chrono. Assuming you can actually slow raid bosses that affords you a lot more options.
im speaking mostly about pvp. since imo. who cares if you do more damage to pve targets when they dont react/ there is no dps meter/ and its pve.

@Endless: Bosses can be slowed. The slow won’t have the slowing effect though. It will tick away at their break bar and be present for the purpose of allowing traits to proc. Same thing with blind/chill/etc.
for pve. what mesmer will bring to a group is alacrity more than its own dps. so min maxing your spec is always a good idea. but not the bulk of your contribution. or are we at a point where we think we wont be alacrity sources over anything else?

If you’re going to run an accuracy sigil(which I think you should during daytime), you’re going to go above the 100% barrier. of course if you want to go extravagant you can take assassins trinkets, but it’s no longer worth making an entire new set for it.
In raids you’re likely going to be running the improved alacrity trait, so you can ignore the plus30% there.
In dungeons and fractals you may not have a ranger, but due to the short lifetime of fights in those, you can keep up perma slow and the danger time trait will take over.
Remember that we are trying to get max precision for reflection. Also remember that we haven’t even seen a raid boss with projectiles yet, I think it’s better to keep from trying to get numbers like 110% crit chance until we do.

Yeah, I’m seeing it as a situation of running zerker and swapping to danger time for a particular boss (aka basically just lupi) if you really need that maximum reflect output.
frifox ran the math anyways and the differences are fairly small
With that in mind I just prefer berzerker not only due to crit caps but universal application as I can share it with my elementalist and necromancer, who both will make use of it.
Also for what it’s worth in a solo setting the berzerker pulls slightly ahead, so open world farm and leveling also favors berzerker. It’s just universally more appealing.
