Guild Wars 2

So, yeah, basically, can’t make up my mind. So far I’m going for the staff, since it’s a rather versatile two handed, but I’m currently not using it (running with Sc/P and Sw/Focus). But! I’m a sucker for scepter, I plan to get Meteorlogicus if i ever get a legendary (though having a stat-changing-always-up-yo-date sword is probably best, I don’t really fancy Bolt). However, scepter is not as flexible build-wise as staff is.

Therefore I wanted to hear some opinions, what are you working towards, if you are planning to get any ascended weapon at all, and why?

Ps. I’m also secretly hoping for an ascended version of The Crossing this halloween. Or even better: An ascended Scepter! Oh crap, it just goes on and on…

Im working on Wupwup Claymore (the greatsword). Ive always have been a stickler for things looking nice and having at least a feasible amount of utility. I like how it looks and it has… well every stat. I might be missing out on some points in certain things, but hey I gain some in others.

Sword. It seems to be the one weapon I never go without

None because I don’t care about ascended weapons.

I was thinking of getting Sunrise for my warrior … but I could just sell it, get myself a foefire greatsword, the entropy hammer and whatever other skins I want. If I get a good price I could probably even just buy all of the mats and a precursor again and sell another copy of it.

Once you get the crafting to 500, is not much expensive to craft all the weapons. The problem is that we need artificer for scepter, focus and staff, weaponsmith for gs and sword, huntsman for torch and pistol…

None. Because givers doesn’t appear to be an option.

Mmmm A lot of suggestions here make sense, but don’t you feel like ascended weapons might be a deliberate gold sink to make things more like last halloween (mats and gold-wise) or christmas events?

And yeah, leveling all three disciplines is a real pain, so I think I won’t do so for the being. And since I don’t play fractals, I hope some alternative comes at some point… Maybe when they add Givers like Ross pointed out?

Still, it’s good to hear that not many people consider them to be a must. Eases my mind a bit.

I had not given that any thought. I was more thinking it had to do with luring people into logging in more often.
I hate crafting with a passion and in all honesty, I would rather not have ascended in the game at all (but that is a completely different discussion that does not belong here).
As I said before, I am planning on making the sword, but I am not in any rush.
