Who benefits more from Time Warp? Party versus Phantasm
I tend to group up with my guildies, so i have a slanted view on dungeons. What i do is i get our ranged to come to my illusions and hit them all at once. I dont see why this would be a big issue with random players, Just a little talking.
i love time warp but i feel sometimes its buggy i will drop it and no one will get it . BUT when it works i see like 1/4 of the bosses health is droped in the ten secs
Why are we discussing Time Warp like it’s not a huge AoE?

TW affects a maximum of 5 ‘targets’ (or so it seems, correct me if I’m wrong) so what I want to know is whether it’s better to boost people or phantasms.
Maybe I’m running with undergeared players so their dps seems lower than my wardens.
Also, TW has a priority list of targets to affect, it will buff players first then NPC’s like clones/pets etc.
Hit both your group and your phantasms with it whenever possible.
If not, have your group move into it, seeing as iWardens do not move.
Problem solved?
I think the auto attack isn’t the thing to think about here. TW makes EVERYTHING go faster. Healing, rezzing, cast times, all 5 of your skills. So while iwardens may put out more dps, that TW might also save the teammate who’s desperately trying to get off their heal skill too. I really just think you should place it as best you can to effect both and hope your allies know what to do with it, or let your iwardens use it instead if they don’t.

I am not sure about this. Ill have to test it out.
@Sarelm
Yes it’s probably for the best to hit both and cross your fingers.
Bosses which allow for 2-3 wardens are rare anyway.
@Mufasa
I know that TW isn’t unlimited (when used on a zerg in wvwvw it won’t buff everyone)
And when used on an entire group in a dungeon only players will get it and not pets/clones, can turrets get it? :p
Is it confirmed that time warp even effects phantasms? I briefly tested this and it didn’t seem to speed them up— like it makes their attacks go off faster but it doesn’t actually reduce the delay in the time that they attack.
Aka— it seems more worthwhile to drop on your party since they have more than one attack.

Time warp increases action speed, but it doesn’t decrease skill cooldowns accordingly. When using iWardens, this is actually a really bad thing, as it decreases the amount of time their protective bubble is up. Phantasms will never get a damage boost from time warp, as the time period between their skill uses will remain essentially the same. The only thing that will change with phantasms is how fast they use each separate attack.
Thanks for solvng that then, so it’s actually bad for phantasms, too bad since phantasms seemed to have a timer only on their actions. I will edit the main post to not misinform anyone.
Ps. Staff clones would benefit the most from TW in that case, this is if you’re solo and not with a group which would benefit more.
Yeah, Staff Clones benefit from it a fair bit.
One thing to keep in mind though is that depending on your race, there’s probably a superior solo-elite to use.
For example as an Asura, I use either my D- or 7-Golem when solo, both do well if I bite off too much.
My GF as a Norn tends to run around with something like Become the Raven (for the mass-AE interrupting), although she can also use Rampage as One effectively to burst through overpulls.
Generally speaking though Time Warp does well when solo, too. Just not on Phantasms.
1-Hand Sword Clones and Time Warp has always been a nice combination here. Its possible to end up causing a target to hit 25 Vulnerability and Bleeding with 3x Sword Clones and yourself going at it like a honey badger and already having a bit of a stack of both going.
Throwing the Time Warp on a Staff Clone or Staff really hasn’t had much of an effect for me, for some odd reason. To the point its better to throw Time Warp on allies without worry if I’m in the area. Its nice, but not a priority with the Staff.
I have yet to see what happens with Scepter Clones, though doubt much use will occur with the Time Warp on the Scepter clones. On the other hand, Time Warp on myself, with “On Clone Death” Confusion and Random Condition has me curious what will happen.
G.Sword Clones + Sharper Images has potential for quite a bit of Bleeding though, but again something I haven’t tested much.
One thing though, has anyone tested Time Warp with I.Defender and I.Disenchanter with Phantasmal Healing? I’m curious how Time Warp could affect I.Defender and Phantasmal Healing … which I’ll have to try sometime.
- (Death, Terry Pratchett, Hogfather)
Gsword clones are by far the best for applying bleeding stacks with time warp, as they have an extremely high rate of attack, since each attack is split up into the 3 separate bursts, each of which can apply bleeding. Additionally, being at range, they are less likely to get killed. That being said, mainhand sword clones also are fantastic time warp fodder, due to the vulnerability stacking.
iDefender puts up a continual damage passing buff, with no downtime. It does have an attack rate like the rest of the phantasms, but that attack rate does not affect its main funtionality. iDisenchanter is just the same as the rest, with a specific cooldown time on its actions.
Phantasmal healing I have not tested….but since the buff has a continual uptime, I can’t see how it would affect it at all.
