Im tired of Mesmer’s getting hit with the nerf bat so I rolled one, Wondering if anyone else did. This is reminding me of Diablo 3.

I continue to be surprised they don’t split the skills into PvE and PvP versions. Oh well, I still enjoy the game, just think it could be much easier on themselves and us if they did this, just as they have done it in Guild Wars 1.

No, because irregardless of a broad nerf to quickness (which isn’t even specific to our class and was hardly the only utility we were good for) We’re still a powerful and well-defined class, in a much better place than some other professions.

And Timewar kitten till one of the better sources of quickness due to its length, lack of penalty, and the fact it’s a combo field.

Yeah, I rolled a warr… back in September. But it had nothing to do with nerfs, so much as wanting to play a class without thinking too hard occasionally. :p

switched back on my faceroll guard. frac 30+ with mesmer sucked already pre patch. exausting to play and now not worth anymore since your best grp buff is useless.

I started leveling a warrior a month ago. Once again, Mesmer receives a nerf and minor bug fixes. Why won’t they fix some of the more prominent bugs before implementing such a powerful nerf? That would be more of a fair trade off than just making Spatial Surge slightly more useful.

I feel sorry for anyone who rolled a warrior with the haste changes. I am actually considering rolling to engi or play my mesmer again if scepter #3 is decent. Confusionzzmangg.

I don’t mind the nerf in a WvW or PvP setting, but in PvE it is really taxing. Skills like hundred blades suck outside of PvE, but in a dungeon you can complete a dungeon in around 6 minutes with a single Mesmer and 5 Berserker Warriors. As the stronger PvE classes (Guardians for fractals and harder dungeons, Warriors for anything you intend to speed clear) it makes the other professions less and less desirable.

On gw2lfg.com, for example, nobody requests for Rangers or Thieves or anything else; they all want Warriors and Mesmers, ELUSIVELY. For Fractals, everyone wants Guardians. ArenaNet needs to focus on balancing PvE so that all professions are equally welcome in parties. I’m tired of feeling like if I play something beside Guardian or Warrior, people will feel that I’m hindering the group’s efficiency. Good players should be chosen, not good professions. It’s just disgusting that people will kick you because they want all of one profession ONLY and nothing else.

Literally the only reason people want those kinds of set-ups is optimizing speed runs, which you don’t have to do. There are plenty of people who aren’t interested in that and will take anybody—or will join any group that doesn’t tell them they’re not allowed.

The fact that you’d roll warrior over mesmer baffles me.

I rolled a warrior about a month ago and he’s sat at lvl 14 since then because of how much fun mesmer is. I see nothing awful with this patch and plenty to play around with, so what if quickness is only 50% faster now the recharge on timewarp limited it’s usefulness anyway imho.

@mere image, every game has speed run groups or something approximate, it’s nothing to whine about since there are always other groups willing to accept people

The big nerf to time warp through quickness affects groups as a whole, not just mesmers.
Burst warriors (who have a personal quickness skill) are the ones who should be complaining.

On topic : Yes you are 100% right , and now with the party utility of mesmer nerfed to the ground (yes ground , its not 75% its 50% ) mesmer utility for the party its almost gone ( i already see 5 warr group farm in cof now instead of any other classes included in the farm ) ! The staff of Gw2 need to work on balancing in a good way not nerfing all the classes to the ground , big problems like guardian utility in harder dungeons still there , the warrior crazy dps in pve still there , and the rest of classes that now are useless ! And btw if you still think your class is better YOU ARE WRONG , guardians and warriors DO IT BETTER !

I wouldn’t say TW is now useless or even bad like Frenzy, but its a very significant nerf. People saying its a “I win” button pre-patch clearly don’t play the harder dungeons or fracts at higher levels.

It’s no big deal to mesmer’s specifically, but it’s a big deal to PvP balance in general.

It was changed for PvE as well as PvP because devs don’t want to make a bunch of abilities perform different in PvP than in PvE.

P.s. Mesmer is still by far one of the most powerful classes in the game, short of maybe Guardian and Warrior.

Warrior has more damage than a Mesmer in pve, but makes up for it by having somewhere between 0 and 0 utility.

Guardians have great utility, and make up for it by having low damage.

Mesmers have almost the same utility as guardians, while still doing fantastic damage.

Note that the above is all pve. In pvp, warriors are laughable, though guardians are still strong, but mesmers are turbocharged.

Let me guess glass cannon shatter cat builds in PVE? Kudos to u if u and ur teammates dont rely on your clones/phantasms to survive.

I still love my Mesmer in WvW, no other profession allows me to harass people as much as my Mesmer. I’ve been having particular fun with confusion bombing groups with my trusty old sceptre, it’s a bit tricky lining the beam up, but if you get it right…oh happy days!

And I still love watching spammers (especially thieves) blow themselves up Although I have many professions I can WvW with, my Mesmer still gives me the most fun, so until that changes, I’ll be ruining peoples day for a long time

i rolled warrior 2 months ago. for pve.. and been playing it ever since!
for cof 1.. now that quickness is halved, warrior’s frenzy buffed to 6,5 sec..
with a good ball runner, we could kick the mesmer is out of the group.!!!
gonna be sooo much faster!! oh, and the stat buff to banners are insane!
170 power could pretty much equals to 6.5 constant might outside might boons!

pretty sure last time I checked warrior forum, there are many warriors were like “we are the weakest class” so I dont plan on one

I don’t know why you’d choose a prof that pretty much puts you to sleep over one that actually engages you like mesmer. If you want to brag that you can level or clear dungeons fastest, sure take warrior. I can’t do it though, because I’d probably fall asleep after thirty or forty levels of Spamming for great justice and GS #2 and 3. Even guardian, the other prof considered Fotm, takes hell of a lot more work than warrior.

I did already, but not because Mesmers get nerfed (like everyone else, besides that this patch is not bad at all) I just like to have a easier character to play sometimes lolgreatsword.

i actually main both a warrior and a mesmer.

some people say that warrior is the easiest profession, and it’s true that it’s the easiest to learn, but there are so many little things about it that if you can master make it have so much more depth then most people realize.

i stand by both classes as the best in the game. and this patch does nothing to persuade me otherwise.

I have every class… more of a wanting to know my enemy thing more than really liking other classes more than mesmer. I still main mesmer, but i do love some mh sword/GS warrior in wvw at times… GS for mesmer has good flow like GS for warrior… too bad izerker is being kitten

Maybe because it is our only viable dps elite. It would be different if there was another option…even a selfish one (a self buff elite like warrior signet of rage). I already have a nearly fully geared 80 warrior. I’m only missing ascended 3 ascended accessories. I got bored with my warrior and bounced around from guard, necro, ele, and finally to mesmer. I haven’t been bored with the mesmer yet, but I am getting irritated with the constant nerf train on mesmers. The nerfs to stealth almost made me stop using decoy. The quickness nerf really makes me want to choose a different elite..but guess what…there is no other elite to chose for dps….stuck with the glass half empty now. I’d love a dps signet that maybe gave decent duration on a self fury boon and some passive swiftness.

What you negative ppl miss also is look at the professions we fight patches.

Sight, just stop, you can in no way claim our clas got constant nerfs mr. We got constant balancing and in the end we accualy stronger now than we was a few month back.

Sry I dont run shatter builds in PvE. And a big thank you for being responsible for all those that are in PvE ex COF P1 especially during Legendary Shaman.

Some of the buffs are actually bug fixes like the underwater skills.

I rolled a warrior a couple of months ago, leveled it to around 15 and lost interest.

Seriously, TW nerf doesn’t change much, really. Our favorite class got buffed instead.
Sword CD patch makes it almost as good at clone production as the staff is. I’m really pleased overall.

… and for those who think that TW is the only thing of substance we could contribute, well, go roll a warrior to spam 100b indeed, your mesmer won’t be missed in a party anyway.

Nerfed to the ground? Now it’s just not LOLOMGEVERYTHINGDIES.

Mesmer is still an incredibly strong class and a blast to play. I would have liked to see a cd reduction in TW, but honestly, if you were only playing mesmer for the 10 seconds of quickness every 3.5 min, then you aren’t playing the mesmer right.

Baby, time warp nerfed a marginal 25%…. it’s not the end of the world. On the other hand… we got:
- GS can hit up to 3 targets.
- Confusing images can hit up to 5 targets.
+ 4 bug fixes to traits that made the class BETTER:

Are you people just scared that the only reason people invited you into groups was because of Time Warp? If that’s the case, you have much bigger problems to deal with thakitten0% haste nerf (which probably affected Rangers and Warriors & Thieves much more than it affected Mesmers). But, tbh I wouldn’t mind one bit if the Mesmer class thinned out some, so by all means, enjoy your Warrior.

And as far as stealth? Lolwhat, if you were blowing all your cool downs to stealth one after the other you’re not doing it right… the short revealed thing doesn’t affect us.
