Guild Wars 2

So i play shatter mesmer and this has been bothering me.when i first get into combat. I would get out 3 clones, mind wrack , then roll(1clone) and press mirror images(2 clones) and then cry of frustration. When i do that combo, i apply 10 stacks of confusion in a heartbeat, and the confusion never procs, not even when i first apply it. I mean i know that they could just stand there and wait it off, but nobody has the reaction time to see that 10stacks of confusion has been apply to them in under a second and not even cast one ability or auto attack. So can somebody tell me why confusion is awful or how im not doing it right

Confusion is more of a control effect than a damage condition. Either they cleanse it right away (which should still proc one hit) or they actually do wait it out. Since they can see the clones running towards them and exploding, your tactics are kinda apparent. I can’t remeber how long shatter confusion lasts since I don’t run shatter anymore, but if its only 3 seconds, then they can definetly wait it out.
