Why is loot so scarce as a mesmer?
No, it only increases the quality of things you find.
Shattering is rubbish at low levels for some reason. It becomes pretty useful for tagging later, but only if you launch all three illusion slots into it.
GS3’s range is terrible. It tags fairly well, but it barely hits anything.
Phantasmal Berserker does tag mobs. Excellently. It’s what I use Primarily to tag a large swarm of mobs in DEs.
However, it is a known issue that Mesmers have major issues getting lots of tags on enemies in DEs. We just tend to lack the sheer AoE damage capability needed to rival other classes (though some will argue otherwise, and you can probably spec for this specifically to fix the issue, but it’ll raise a bunch of new ones…)
We just kind of have to try and do what we can. Rolling Mesmer for financial gain is probably a bad idea – We trade monetary potential for sheer fun.
Your Mesmer is doing dungeons and your guardian is running amuck killing things in world pve. Do the same with your Mesmer and see the difference. When I need loot I’ve taken to camping spawn points in Frostgorge Sound. You can fill your bags pretty quickly, and not have to worry about tagging loot.
It doesn’t change the fact that other classes can Zerg to get karma and loot, but it does let you make money until that issue gets addressed.
I mean honestly, just using GS#2 on my Guardian gives me a pretty high chance of looting almost everyone I hit. Why can’t it be the same for mesmers?
What type of gear are you running?
