Why my ilusions do Zero damage?? help a noob!
Probably not. The question is which illusions are you referring?
Clones (the ones that look like you) do next to no damage even at level 80. These are there to confuse your enemy and feed your shatters.
Phantasms (the ones that are ethereal in nature) do good damage and supplement your damage. You should be seeing decent damage from them.
I was talking about the clones, because they used to do some damage, now they literally do Zero damage.
Maybe you don’t have Sharper Images from the Dueling Trait Line anymore? Although that only makes them putting some bleeds on your foes.
Thanks guys, I guess I’ll have to change my build a little.
I guess he’s refeering to the early beta (or alpha?), where clones actually did damage.
But since release clones deal no damage anymore, they just apply your basic attack and the conditions on them (or additional effects like boonstrip on sword aa). The phantasms are the dd’s now.

Just to be clear,
Clones – Deal small damage which does crit, thus if traited it can result in bleeding stacks. If they did the main mesmer’s damage it would make the mesmer a bit too strong for it’s own good
Phantasms – Are almost transparent/glowing clones each with their own special mechanics similar to other profession skills and deal greater damage than clones, put very simply.
Staff and Trident clones still do plenty of damage and have bouncing attacks which stack conditions on enemies and buffs on allies. If you have three of either kind out, they will be causing all sorts of trouble.
I actually prefer them over phantasms for most PVE situations, not because phantasms are bad, but because clones are so much fun.

Staff, trident, and scepter clones still don’t do any damage, you’re wrong.
They do use an attack that innately stacks conditions, and those will do damage normally.

They’re attacks may not do direct damage, but due to the condition stacking, the clones do actually cause damage, so he wasn’t wrong. Nevertheless this entire topic is a digression from the OP’s question.
As to the OP, as many others have said, clones have never done any significant direct damage. I’m not sure what you thought was happening but you were probably mistaking clones with phantasms (which can hit like a truck).

Specialise in Dueling, there’s multiple traits to make your clones inflict conditions, and lots of clone production. I as a well experienced Mesmer run this line regardless of my build.
