Why so much nerf?
It’s like with Thief, the play type is different than what they like and makes it harder for them to spam faceroll. So they claim OP and want nerfs.
Oh god, clones are so cheap. Only scrub mesmers use clones.
EDIT: Sarcasm. Thought that was obvious, sorry.

…would like lots of salt to go with your comment?
Here’s a little formula;
The profession is somewhat difficult to grasp/master. Those who sticks with it, in turn, becomes somewhat skilled, by having to overcome the several challenges presented, as they level a highly Trait dependent profession with a quirky mechanic in its illusions and shatters. This in turn creates a skewed image on how the Mesmer is overpowered, because every Mesmer you fight, is actually somewhat skilled, making it seem that way. In addition, as a new(er) player, illusions can be confusing and you may lose track of the Mesmer. This makes it a great profession, for the already somewhat skilled players that sticks with it, to confuse and get an upper hand/prey on these newcomers. Instead of trying to play the profession, learning how it works, finding out the various flaws we know all to well about, they rather complain in droves, and ask for nerfs. ArenaNet is forced to look into it, and strikes the bat down on our shoulders, yet again, to please the majority. Fair enough.
PS: Luckily with R.Gee at the helm, we seem to be getting fair treatment, and nothing as of late has felt like harsh nerfs to me. On the contrary, I feel some of the recent changes has been the best we’ve had throughout the years.
Seafarer’s Rest
We’re like the Native Americans and everyone else is the British. People came on our turf and were like “strange people I don’t understand, Shoot at it!!” Despite all the bull honky and whining I love how this class isn’t a cliche unlike others. So bathe in that hate and use it to squash your opponents.

I once got called cheap for using a condi cleanse. PvP players aren’t very good.
Mesmer is no different to any other profession. If played well it can be devastating. However if played not so well, it has a lot of forgiveness where you can try again. Each profession has a build like this. When played well it will down you in a blink of any eye..if played sloppy, it can be forgiving. The salt your getting is no different to say a necro..shroud when used specifically can squish you..but if they muck it up it can be used to tank and forgive your errors…it is exactly the same as warrior stances.
Your gonna get salt from players at times who spot the fact your making more uses of the forgiving aspects of a build rather than being purity of purpose. This is no different to a thief who when they’re losing suddenly stealths and runs away or an ele who blinks away and puts up aura’s and swiftness.
Okay then. . .
Guardian Aegis is cheap. Not allowed to use.
Thief’s stealth is cheap. Not allowed to use.
Elementalist water attunement is cheap. Not allowed to use.
Engi can’t use kits at all. Nope. None.
LOL It’s part of the classes core mechanic. Anyone calling it cheap has l2p issues.

I don’t…use any of those…XD? And I win? Well, minus Thief. Mesmer is just a super upgraded Thief at this point…. but besides that XD Oh and I play only use one handed dagger vampire necro. Thats fun (and broken). Try that one guys >.> One dagger, no wep swap. You’d be surprised.
