Why was this nerfed?
It was the easiest way to bring our max burst combo (Mirror Blade + Mind Wrack) in line with other high damage skills (for example Backstab).

One of the reasons was to reduce dmg on burst. before mirror blade bounces would hit twice a single target with the 4 bounces (2 bounces on you 2 on target) now it hit just once on target. (2 bounce on you 1 on target).

This is a little misleading to a confessed noob.
Mirror blade before would hit 3 times on target: initial attack > bounce off you > bounce off target > bounce off you > back to your target.
Now it still hits you twice, but it only hits your target twice, as well. That’s a 33% damage reduction on the burst.
Mirror blade being unblockable, it was a big component of the mesmer alpha strike.

Ah I see. And that extra 33% was too much burst to be reasonable?
I mean I am sure we are fine as we are now. I don’t feel weak what so ever. Just weaker.
Thanks for the simple explanation btw ^.^ I kinda had grasps on how it worked but the simpler the better! X3
Well at 3k power in WvW that 3rd strike was about 2.7k damage, it’s nothing to be sniffed at.
Even in PvP it hit pretty hard. I’m ok with the nerf, if that’s the only thing we really get nerfed (except that bloomin torch trait) then we’re in a decent spot after patch…
…though there is room for a buff on chaotic dampening and reverting HM back to 4%.

That’s what I said, initial attack doesn’t count as bounce. On my comment I said 2 bounces on target “Bounces” not counting initial attack

Except you didn’t say “not counting initial attack”, in fact you said nothing about the initial attack at all, leaving a confessed noob to think casting mirror blade only hit the target twice, since the idea that bounces and hits are different things doesn’t usually occur to most noobs.
Hence I said that your comment was misleading, not that it was wrong.
