I’d like to bring up an idea about changing Winds of Chaos a little bit.

It’s a great spell but the weakness seems to be well, too weak compared to bleed or burn so it effectively decreases staff’s DPS (by approx 25-30%).

If we could have a trait to swap out weakness to something else or just get rid of it all together it would make staff even better.

Also I’d like to thank aNet for fixing phase retreat – it’s such an amazing spell now.

It doesn’t have weakness. That would be awesome. There’s a thread asking to remove vulnerability already.

Phase retreat is crap now. Keep whatever is in place to keep you out of obstacles but put movement back to based on the angle your character is facing.

I would like to add a point of discussion.

The description for winds of chaos seems misleading. It only sometimes bounces to nearby enemy targets. It seems to much prefer returning to the casters position, in which case it may hit an enemy on the way back if they are between the original target and yourself.
The skill description could read ‘Cast an orb with a mind of it’s own. On it’s pondeary excusion to scorch your foes it might take a fancy to you’re friends; if so, run!’

Look at your positioning. It will usually bounce to you if you are closest to your target. It will probably bounce to an enemy if its closer to your target than you and your allies are.

The preference of bouncing attacks that affects enemies and allies is enemy-ally-enemy-ally. Expect WoC to hit only one enemy most of the time. In order to more-or-less guarantee hitting two enemies (or hit the same enemy twice) take Illusionary Elasticity.

Note that Illusions cannot be the target of WoC, the only reason they sometimes get hit is because they’re in the way.

I would love WoC to do weakness instead of vuln. We should have a trait to do that.
