I don’t think that he quite understands how PvP works.

Unless the counterplay is so easy that the ability is useless, adding more preventative counterplay to something isn’t going to stop the people that complain about it from complaining about it.

By reducing the duration, the survival rates of people hit with it should go up, and they should complain about it less.

But there is still a prob with the animation so even 4 sec removed from it wont change much the QQer’s lol

He’s definitely not a hardcore PvPer, but it doesn’t really make sense to lump him in as a “PvEr” either.

And what he does lack in PvP experience only really reinforces how relevant his opinion is on why this needed to be nerfed since he easily hit legendary last season solo Qing as a chrono. Feel free to check out his vid from mid-April where he talked about how OP the build he used was and how easy it made hitting legendary:

I take it you never frequent the pvp subforum then. And the same could be said about what you wrote in relation to him getting to legendary.

Grinding out pips is nothing more than a grind. It literally takes zero skill to get to legendary if you play enough games.

Let that sink in, wrap your head around that, and come to the realization that the pvp leveling/ranking system is more flawed than your response.

Throughout his videos it seemed quite obvious he had a very loose concept on the current meta, and how mesmer is currently balanced. Yes, condi mesmer is strong, but not to the point of it being “completely broken and over powered”. Whenever someone says “over powered” i think about the height of celestial ele’s power. When they had literally almost no counters. Now, compare that to mesmer currently. They’re susceptible to cc’s, and heavy condi pressure.

Granted they have 3 invulns (with signet of illusions and f5), but as for cc’s they only have one stun breaker, which can be broken through easily with warriors or druids. As for heavy condi pressure, any necro with copious amounts of chill will assure you that its very easy to stack conditions on a mesmer if you time your cc’s well enough. Since alacrity was nerfed, chill does horrible things to our rotations considering most mesmer account for the decrease in cooldowns. But, i digress, i’ve completely stopped watching any of his videos that have to do with pvp due to his lack of research while speaking about pvp and the meta in general.

Who cares what a pve hero thinks about class changes ???

I couldn’t watch past the first 30 seconds. He said “Mesmer is completely overpowered. It has been very overpowered for a long time.”

Once I heard that I knew he doesn’t know kitten about pvp for Mesmer.
