World Boss Champ Bags
Greatsword – auto attack – go afk and make yourself a cup of tea.
(throw some izerkers and mind wracks in there if you can be bothered)
I tried that. I even threw in a feedback and time warp for good measure. Didn’t work. Didn’t get a single champ bag.

Then…you must be doing it wrong? I’m not sure what to tell you. You barely need to sneeze on world bosses to tag them.
We’re talking about the same thing right? That champ bag where you need to reach a dps % threshold on the world boss…
damage is only part of the equation, unless you are in a very small group (which is extremely rare in the megaserver era). in large groups 100+ it seems to not be about total damage.
i run pure zerker strength rune self-might stacking on all my builds and have about a 50% champ bag rate during WB events (often in melee). others have speculated it has to do with who tags the boss first and that after a certain amount of tags, the rest of the players get no bag no matter how much damage they do duyrng the fight….its a hard theory to confirm, tho.

hey, I too have trouble getting tags, but all classes do if you have a large enough zerg. For champ bag tags, you need to do a certain percentage of damage to the champs. The best way to do this is to get a party, since your party’s shared dps is calculated towards the minimum damage necessary for a bag.
I run mostly solo and nearly always get the champ bag from world bosses.
As much as I love my mesmer main, it is so much easier to qualify for loot by choosing another profession.
In my opinion it still has to do with how fast you output your damage to kill someone (= kill speed). The slower you are contributing your damage, the inferior your loot will be.
Worst case = no loot
better = white bags from champions (speaking of the same champion which in comparison to the mesmer grants another profession each time an exotic bag or at minimum a rare)
even better = blue, green, yellow, orange, etc..
If I want to get decent loot I prefer to choose another profession, BUT when I want to play my mesmer, I just do it (knowing my loot results could be better).
My mesmer’s loot improved after I changed to a high dps and phantasm (aoe) build, but still sometimes I get no or just white, blue or green bags from champs.
